  3. what are all the childcare options for daughter a year and a half . apparently it is harder if you have 1 child to get financial help. at moment we need full time until our house is sorted. I think assistante maternelle is the only option for me. any help appreciated.

  5. we are looking for a loan /mortgage to do up our property. Our property has now been paid outright but we need to do this up. i have heard of a new "pret hypotheque" . I or my partner have not decided our fiscal status as yet though at present we are still under the UK system until we work out the best options considering we will be doing some uk work too. we are self employed . It may be easier to be under the french system considering i have a daughter (will post message on childcare in one of these posts too)i have also read about 0 per cent loans - what are the advantages and or disadvantages of this too? any help appreciated. we would like to get this sorted by Jan as we also would like to do some rentals for income asap.
  6. it stops him from work sometimes to the point at the mometn that he is barely able to work and we are just in process of moving to our house in france. can he get any disability payment in france if diagnosed with this? as i am a mum with 1 and half year old what help could i get for childcare etc if he cannot help. i know if you are a single mum there is quite a lot of help but what about with a partner with crippling illness? thanks in advance. any info and amount greatly appreciated.
  7. for 1 and half year old child. any recommendations appreciated. also looking for music / dancing classes. we are bilingual so no problem on language front. also how does it work if we make ourselves french resident to get financial help iwth the child? my partner at the moment is not that well so not really working and i will need help with child to be able to work (trying to write a book!!!). thanks in advance!
  8. we have a fab detached farmhouse possibly to rent in the new year. it is about 7 mns drive from the beautiful medieval town of cahors. in the countryside without being too far out. not far from hospitals and doctors etc if need be. great facilities. weather milder in the lot than other areas such as the dordogne and further up near limoges. dont hesitate to drop us a line.

  10. Anyone know of how i can get single jab vaccines for MMR in and around Cahors?   How does it work? We are just arriving from the UK and i need to get my daughter of 17 months vaccinated but there are a lot of issues in the uk about the all in one vaccine giving autism. anyone know about the costs of the vaccine? i believe you buy this from the chemist and then the nurse or doctor injects it? any recommendations in Cahors . if not Cahors what you know would be closest to there. thanks in advance.

  16. We have a japanese import car Mitsubishi delica (8 seater) with right hand drive. We want to sell this and get a LHD campervan. should we sell our Mitsubishi in the UK first? we are thinking of buying campervan in germany as we are told this is much cheaper. any ideas appreciated.

  18. what do people think of the department where there are cheaper houses/barns for sale . do they find the regions as good as any others? worth investing in? i usually believe if it is cheap there is probably a downside to it. any tips appreciated.

Looking to cover things such as pensions, benefits, child, life insurance ...etc .
