Looks delicious, but I don't think I'd have the patience to whisk up egg whites by hand. Far too lazy.

Absolutely LOVE poached eggs. I never seem to get them right though. Runny whites, etc.
Nice of your new friend to bring you the eggs.

That sounds great all the way around Gardian. Hope it continues.

I haven't tried the electric toothbrush yet, but my Dentist suggested I use a jet dentaire. So, I got a Water Pik. What a mess !!! Water all over the sink, everywhere. On a low setting, it couldn't be much better than rinsing water in your mouth. On the higher setting it makes a waterfall mess. I just don't get it.
I'll continue to use it to see if it makes any difference. I still brush and floss. Not convinced yet.

And cook it well Menthe as if you follow the cooking instructions on the package, you will get a slightly chewy grain. The longer you cook it, the softer it will get (though it will never get as soft as rice) - and this will NOT ruin the flavor, etc. I happen to like it cooked longer (so softer result). If you are in the process of dental work or have concerns with 'firmer' foods, cook it longer.

Looks delicious to me. We love épeautre. It's great with salads, mixed with grilled vegetables, in soups or just on its own cooked in the broth of your choice. I will often sauté some shallots, add some garlic powder (or fresh diced garlic), add the grain, some water and cook. It is also good used as a stuffing for vegetables (great use for left-over épeautre).

What a great photo !

Those Facebook photos/videos look dreadful. There will be so much work to try to repair what is repairable. Flood damage is very hard to repair.
Best of luck to Oiseau on her journey tomorrow. I hope she will not encounter any problems.
Hopefully the freezer will come back to like after a long dry out.
Hope this is the end of it.

Google Translate has it as Ahhjaksio.

Terrible !
So glad they were saved. And what a smart idea to save them.

Yes, the water level looks much higher. Really scary.
Hoping the rain will subside it will stop rising.

Glad to hear you've gotten through the night. I do hope things improve and soon.
Courage !
And yes, how are the furry members of the family coping ?

Good Lord !! That is awful. Is there an update?
Been raining each day here, but nothing like up there.
Any indication when it will let up Wooly?
Hope you are okay this morning.

I created mine about a year ago. Put all my medical documents in it and allowed my MT access. Haven't really needed to use it so far.

Yes, it is rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain and then some more RAIN...

It is just a guess, but since it was supposed to be taken from your account and the funds had not arrived yet, the yellow "payer en ligne" message may not appear until the system updates to reflect the prelevement failed and you still owe the payment.
You can send them an email in your espace client. Round here they answer pretty promptly.

Oh, I'm so sorry Menthe. You did what you could. So sad.
-
How sad Menthe. I think Dave's advice might be the only option.

When we sold up in the Vaucluse, we called all the usual suspects Emmaus, Red Cross, local churches, etc. They all said their warehouses were chocker full and they could not take anything. I did find that really odd.
And the buyer of our house (at that time) was a cash buyer, so the normally 2 to 3 months time frame to close the sale was shortened to 30 days !! So, we had little to no time to get rid of a truck load of 'stuff.'
The buyers wanted certain things. In the end, like Lehaut, Leboncoin did the trick. We mostly gave stuff away. Our neighbors also bought quite a bit of things at give away prices.
One person who was preparing two gites for rental took a LOT of items. She found us on Leboncoin.

You said it Menthe !!
The candidate who brings Dentists to all will get my support. And, if he promises GYN's to all the ladies and GP's to all, well life would change completely.

I did not know that Menthe. My last crown (Dec. 2022 - back molar) was 500€ It would have been 250€ had I not chosen the whiter color.
Glad this one is done for you Menthe, and it didn't break the bank.
A crown in the U.S. runs about $1700, sometimes more. What, if anything, you get back from insurance will depend on your coverage. Typically you are stuck paying at least 50% of the cost out of pocket.

Thank you so much for that Norman. I will have a good read tomorrow.

Ahh, what a great idea Wooly. Not sure the Dentist would agree though.
