  1. I have sold my house and will move to France on 25 January.I have a second home ther which I will live in until I find a permanent home. 1. For tax purposes is it possible/worth taking some time there as "holiday" time before I take up occupation in the new house. 2.I will have some £160000 to invest pending the house purchase which can earn 5% for say 4 months while I find a home. As I understand this would involve me in a large tax payments> is thera better way?

  3. Have recently joined Condor Ferries Frequent Traveller Club, and travelled with them for the first time. Service excellent.   On my return letter waiting for me to say that they are introducing a new pricing structure. Basically instead of the present discount of up to 20% they will now offer up to 10%, other modifications including 50% discounton every 5th booking in 1 2 month period. In all fairness they do offer a refund if we do n ot like the new structure and an additional 3 months membership if we wish to continue, Any thoughts?:

  6. We charge 100 euros, which is quoted on our booking documents. This is taken in cash onarrival, and refunded on departure day. Happily we have an excellent caretaker who we refard as "Hawkeye". To date we have had only minor breakages- drinking glasses etc which have been replaced by the guests. We think if the house is well furnished, guests are more likely to respect it.However to assist the caretaker it is as well not to have too many items on view.
