1. It is with the deepest regret and sadness that I have to announce that my beloved Morse(9yr old GSD)is no longer with us. I had to unfortunately make the decision with the vet this morning that we have done all we can for my precious and therefore we put him to sleep at 0900hrs . He has been every ill since January and the vet is fairly sure he had Prostrate Cancer as well as EPI. He has gone from a 45kg long haired GSD to just under 20kg and was losing alot of his hair and had given up eating anything in the last few days although he still wanted to go for a walk this morning and get in the car. I was with him in the end and he fell asleep in my arms. As you can imagine I am devastated and this is extremly difficult to write as it is hard to see the keyboard through all the tears. Morse I will always love you for the times that you made me laugh, nuzzled me and laid your head on my lap when I was sad, even for the times you went out in the rain and mud and ran in with your muddy paws all over the place and then settled yourself down on the sofa! God Bless you my darling I will see you again oneday! If it should be that I grow weak And pain should keep me from my sleep, Then you must do what must be done, For this last battle cannot be won. You will be sad, I understand. Don't let your grief then stay your hand. For this day, more than all the rest, Your love for me must stand the test. We've had so many happy years. What is to come can hold no fears. You'd not want me to suffer so; The time has come -- please let me go. Take me where my need they'll tend, And please stay with me till the end. Hold me firm and speak to me, Until my eyes no longer see. I know in time that you will see The kindness that you did for me. Although my tail its last has waved, From pain and suffering I've been saved. Please do not grieve -- it must be you Who had this painful thing to do. We've been so close, we two, these years; Don't let your heart hold back its tears.
2. Thanks for that, Wow thats a lot to hug! Take care all of you. going now cos I can hardly see the keyboard through all the tears!
3.   Well They say things happen for a reason and I think Lancia was sent to me for just that! As I have had to have my precious boy(Morse,9yr old GSD) put to sleep this morning[:(] as the illness he has been battling with for some months had taken it's toll. The vet thinks he had Prostrate Cancer and that is what kicked of the EPI. As you can imagine I am devastated and just keep crying(big softie eh!)   Please give all you animals a big hug from me.
4. Thanks Melissa, Is so lovely to see my baby again!  'Lancia' on the left and 'Cybelle' on the right is going to the UK after being saved by EMW Sanctuary. Come on folks please help this an awful situation! Even if it is only a few pennies it could just make the difference when loads of people put in their pennies it soon mounts up.
5. Hello Nicos, Thanks for that. Her name is 'Lancia' well actually it's 'Lancia 3' she is registered in the French Percheron Stud Book! I am going to keep her name as it part of the thing that I like about her although I wouldn't care what she was called I would still have gone and got her!  It's one of the things though that I think Fate played a part in. They are: 1. Her name, I drive a Lancia(Oh not sure if I should admit to that!). 2. When I went down to see her I looked at her papers and her date of birth is the date hubby and I got engaged! 3. Again on checking her papers she was registered on the 9th September 1999 exactly a year to the date before we got married! So all in all very spooky and in my opinion fate!!!!!!!! Will post a picture of her once I get her home, just waiting to hear when I can go and collect her hopefully Friday if not Monday as the flippin dealer is not there at the weekend. However Melissa has posted a picture of her on the posting: Urgent Help Needed for Horses
6. Cooprlola, That is a excellent point! as you never really know what an insurance company is like until you have to make a claim.
7. Aha! You see there are advantages of being tall! I am hoping to ride Lancia eventually although we are not sure if she has ever been ridden so will need some help with that, we do know that she has done some Concours and Driving but other than that we do not  know much more. She is in the French Percheron Stud book and has her papers so at one time she obviously was thought of more than she is currently, other than by me of course! They are such lovely looking creatures and I cannot believe I have been lucky enough to get her.
8. Cooperlola, Trust me I am the type of person never to show I don't know what I'm doing! and I definately will ask someone if I think I need help. So you never know you may well get a call from me![:D]
9. Thanks for that Cooperlola, I am sure I will be ok, I was fine when I saw her yesterday. It's just when I'm on my own doubting my ability and I certainly remember being told not to show nervousness around them as they pick up on it very quickly and that can make them act totally different.  Just writing a list of all the things I need initially so I don't forget anything. Do you recommend straw or wood shavings for bedding in her stable? Although not sure if she is used to being brought in at night it looks like she has been out all the time. Thanks for your offer of help and you never know I may well take you up on it!
10. Will do Cooperlola! Christine Animal, You would have been more than welcome! Never mind I can inform you though that Yes! both girls have been saved the other one 'Cybelle' is going to go to the UK. God, 35! you must be thrilled to think that you rescued him at a young age and because of you he has had a wonderful long and happy life, WOW! The Percherons are just gorgeous, can't wait but am a bit nervous as have not been around horses for a number of years and she is a bit wary bless her!not surprising considering what she has been through so don't want to make it worse for her. Have been swotting up like mad and trying to get the old grey matter remembering what I learnt all those years ago! Oh well, perhaps we will be learning together as she is only 8. Will post some pictures once she is here and I get the camera sorted. Take care all and Thanks for the support. I did wonder if I would get slated you know the usual sort of thing - Have you thought how much it will cost to keep her!  have you enough land! what if you return to the UK! Anyway I am just glad she is NOT going to the Abbatoir, so there!
11. I am with you on that framboise!  If I have ever to return to the UK Lancia,my old GSD and any other any othe pets I have by then will be going back with me! YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are all wonderful, Thank you so much for the kind offers of transport. Lancia and I are now fixed up just trying to arrange which day we can go and collect her now. A BIG THANK YOU TO STEVE!
12. Thanks guys for the support. I just can't believe how these poor horses are being treated, dragged from all over the place mostly Spain/France and then fattened up and shifted all the way to Italy because he gets paid more from the abbatoirs there than he does from French ones! Also they accept Mares in Foal(good business for him as these weigh more and he gets paid for the weight of each!) Whilst I realise that we will not stop the eating of Horse meat I do think something should be done of how & where they are moved to! These poor creatures are usually moved shoved in boxes without any partitions!!
13. Cooperlola, You are a Star! Thank you. Although have just spoken to someone who has offered the use of their trailer(they are about 1/2hr away from me) am going to look at it in the morning to see if it will be suitable. Keep your fingers crossed for me and of course Lancia!
14. Well I have paid for her so she is at least safe from the Abbatoir!  However have still not found a trailer so am still looking so if there is a very kind person out there that would be good enough to loan me one I would be extremely grateful as am sure so would Lancia (8yr old Percheron). I just want to get he home and away from that awful place!
15. Am going to go down to dept 41 and save a 8yr old Percheron Mare from Slaughter tomorrow.(see link: http://nouvelle-vie.ephpbb.com/SAUVETAGES-RESCUES-c2/URGENCES-URGENCIES-f40/Lancia-3-Percherone-8-ans-PP-tres-urgent-p37219.htm#37219 ) Is there anyone out there kind enough to lend me a Horse trailer to go and collect her sometime late this week or early next week. I live between Domfront & Ceauce. Thanking you in advance for any help.
16. Definately Fresh for me cannot abide uht!

Slugs

I have been having the same problem as Suninfrance they are all over the place by the flippin hundreds. URGH! Hoddy am afraid I couldn't bring myself to do it either and anyway I'd be out there for days just cutting up slugs, can think of better ways of spending my days!! URGH! again Gemini man the thought of emptying the bucket after is disgusting!
18. Hello again, Well I'm now using OE and also backing up the emails that I want to keep along with all my contacts. As to anything else, documents and photo's etc I have always backed them up so no problems there, well I hope not anyway! France Telecom remind me of BT in the old days when they had total control, oopsssssssssss! Showing my age now! Will be looking at other ISP's to see if I can change as just so fed up with FT. Hopefully my tale of woe will just let others know this sort of thing can hppen and therefore they will not end up in the position.
19. Well folks just to update you. Spoke to the dreaded France Telecom and apparently someone in their infinate wisdom cancelled our old account and set up a new one!!!!!! Not only did this change my email address it changed everything and just after my last post on here I lost my internet connection! So once again I rang them only to be told that I would now have to wait for the new connection to be set up. To say I was slightly Miffed is an understatement anyway here I am again back online. Hubby seems to think it happened because when he changed our details(House move) they asked him if he wanted to upgrade our account(more expense) he refused and informed them that we were quite happy with everything as it was. Due to him refusing these extra services he feels that the person on the other end of the line was slightly fed up with him as perhaps it's like the UK where they earn bonuses for extras they sell!! Therefore wanted to pay us back! Perhaps too cynical however you just never know when you are talking to someone on the other end of the line and they hold all the cards,so to speak. Anyway the downshot is I am unble to retrieve my old account and therefore have lost all my old emails and contacts. So if there is anyone that doesn't hear from me directly "Sorry ,but I've lost your email address" Thanks for the help you all tried to give me and I will now be trying to sort out something else so I won't have the same problem ever again.
20.
Lets get some perspective here, if you change departments you have to change phone numbers but you do not have to change your internet address,  Wanadoo and orange addresses are running in parallel and will do so for some time to come, even if you upgrade to ADSL you do not change your E mail address, but what may have changed is the password access if you have been given a new address but I really cannot see why you would have been.
Ron, As you have stated although you have to change your phone number when changing departments but you do not have to change your internet address. However I can categorically state that they have made me change!!! I even received a letter on Saturday giving me the new details! They did not explain that I would no longer be able to access my old email address though.  I am going to try and contact them today to see if there is anything that can be done and why they have done this, so fingers crossed.
21. ErnieY; Yep! it sure does look like they have killed off my old email address, however they never informed me that was what they were going to do!   Timco; Unfortunately I do not use Outlook express, and therefore it looks like I won't be able to access the old email address via this. Thanks to those of you that have tried to help so far, still hoping that there is someone out there that is such a whizz that they will know a way how to retrieve it.
22. I actually also think it is ridiculous and think it was more due to the fact that they want everyone in line and have the orange email address rather than the old wanadoo! ErnieY, Thanks for those links I will give them a try.   UlsterRugby1999
However, I suspect that if you have not already tried it, you might still be able to access your old account by going into Wanadoo (or Orange as it is now) and inputting your old logon data. If you havent triued this then do so and let us know what happens. If you have and it failed, let us know also.
Thanks for that, however I had already tried doing this and unfortunately it still won't let me access my old email address.   ErnieY, Have just tried the mail2web and it still won't let me pick up old email address it just keeps coming up as error:Login fialure which is exactly what I keep getting with flippin Orange when I try that![8-)]
23. When we moved a couple of weeks ago France Telecom informed us that as we were changing departments and I had an old Wanadoo email address that it would have to be changed to an Orange address. We now have an Orange email address however can not seem to retrieve my old email address(have tried via the autre utiliser on the home page of Orange, however it still won't work) and have now lost all my old emails and all my contact list. Anyone know how to rectify this problem PLEASE? Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks
24. I for one sincerely hope so, I also hope they will re-look at the pathetic pensions they give these brave soldiers.
25. That is excellent news[:D], lets just hope he can get to the UK before the inevitable happens.
