Showing Off!!!!

Thanks Guys for those kind words. Fills me up with pride! Pads, She just comes to the gate every time I go out now and calls to me, she will just stand there and let me put her head collar on whenever I want to so must be getting there!   Dave, Not sure of her history however the mark on her neck is a brand which ALL registered Percherons have! It means she is in the French Percheron Stud Book (have checked and she is definately in there!  Lancia 3, 1999!) It is an S&P for Societe Percheron and it is usually done at about 6mths of age!!   Christine, Yeah, agree the old camel lip!!  She seems to be content and I hope we can continue getting her to trust and learn that NOT ALL humans treat animals badly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2. Hiya, You may remember I lost my precious GSD a while ago [:(]  However I rescued a beautiful 8yr old Percheron Mare from Dept 41. Well she has finally let me groom her mane, yippee!  Took flippin ages however well worth it as no more dreadlocks and I thought I would just show off with some piccies!!!!!!   Before:    After: [kiss]
3. Christine, Thank you so much for those kind words. We have acheived alot as you say in such a short space of time and are grateful for that, however we have had some help! You for one sending me so much information and many links and I would like to say on an open forum, Thank You Christine! Take care, Rxxx
4. After all the interest in the horses we have been able to rescue & rehome to date, we are extremely pleased to announce the arrival of Equine Rescue France a newly registered not-for-profit association based in France. Our aims are to alleviate the suffering of equines that have been abandoned, mistreated or are destined for the abattoir through facilitating their rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing. Where we cannot act, we will inform the relevant authorities of equine mistreatment and, where possible, pursue justice. Furthermore, by supporting recognised organisations in other E.U countries we will campaign for improvements to existing legislation on transportation of live equines to ensure that they are protected from cruelty & neglect. We are extremely lucky to have a very motivated team of experts working with us to create 'ERF' so please visit our website www.equinerescuefrance.org where you can find out more If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me on here or alternatively contact us on our site.
5. OMG[+o(] I had no idea!!!!! Luckily no need for HRT at the mo, however if  I should ever require it in the future I will certainly make sure it is a manmade one!! Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
6.   I do agree with you Cooperlola it is most definately the treatment of any animal prior to reaching the dinner table!  However I personally won't eat Horse meat and although I'm not a vegeterian there are a few meats that I won't eat!
7. OH NO,NO,NO!!!!!!!!!!!!![+o(] I definately wouldn't eat it especially as I have recently saved an 8yr old beautiful Pecheron Mare that was due to go to Italy to be slaughtered!!!!
8.   Hello Christine, They are 86S01, 86S02 and another similar to these two.
9.   Due to unforeseen circumstances we now have 3 horses at dept 86 which need saving...they were saved but the situation has now changed! Please if anyone can help contact us asap!!
10. Petition - stop live transport of horses for slaughter Please sign this petition - it follows on from the Dept 41 horse rescues, and I hope to get as many as possible to sign. Please post in as many places as possible, send to as many people as you can. http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/cruelhorsedeaths/
11. Hiya, There are 5 left in dept 86. If you look on this link they are on the bottom of page 1 & top of page 2 marked dept86.  http://www.equinesection.com/dangerlist.htm Think the donkey in dept 86 is safe but need to confirm there are however other donkeys in dept 41! If you go onto the link there are contact details regarding each. Thanks
12. Indeed I have, in fact I am a moderator of the site mentioned:   http://www.equinesection.com/dangerlist.htm We are desperate to re-home these, we only have 24hrs until the meat lorry turns up!!!!![:@] If anyone can help please go to the website mentioned, this really is their last chance![:(]
13. Pads, Too right! it is a wonderful feeling just going out there however even better I can see her from my office window! so I can open the window and just talk to her from there. To let you know how she is doing with coming to me, well she calls to me everytime she sees me and comes straight up which is such a wonderful feeling! I can't believe the progress in just 2weeks, bless her heart! Although she still won't let me pick he feet up, can't expect too much though. Hope you had a wonderful walk especially in the lovely weather we're having at the moment. It's amazing how they just know isn't it when things are slightly different!   WJT, Glad you liked the piccies and will keep you all updated.  I agree the statistics are dreadful! We are campaigning to try and change this however we are fighting a culture which is always difficult! However I am not against breeding for meat per se! however I do think there should be more regulations for the movement of these animals and how they are treated during the time they are raised!!!
14. Hoddy, Thanks for that! have to say I still can't quite believe she is here and belongs to me, lol Christine, I have to agree the statistics are awful. It is such a shame especially as most of the ones for meat(bred in France) are not even slaughtered in France but in Italy!!(more money!) There is a campaign for meat on hook not on hoof with the ILPH hopefully someone will listen and stop this live export in horrifc conditions. Will keep you all updated as to Lancia's progress. In the meantime take care and enjoy this beautiful weather we're having at the mo.
15. As some of you know I had to have my beloved Morse(9yr old GSD) put to sleep a little over 2 weeks ago, never to be forgotten. Also that I had rescued a Percheron(8yr old Mare) at that time. Well Just like to give you a quick update on her and show you some piccies. Please excuse her mane she still won't let me do anything with it!! Although she will now allow me to stroke her all over and she will stand there for over an hour having that done and whilst I'm doing it her bottom lip wobbles and she just sighs, hope that's with contentment! I just love her more and more just hope she is feeling the same. Especially as we visited a local heavy horse working farm (french owned and managed) were they work the horses on the farm and do displays during the summer months! We were told whilst there that out of the 800(approx) Percheron foals born in France this year that ONLY 10% will NOT end up as MEAT thats just 80 out of the 800!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG, my heart bleeds!
16. Thanks Rob Roy, Hopefully we can help each other heal the recent sad times we have each had. With some luck we should have many years together especially as she is only 8yrs old and apparently their average age is 27 so fingers crossed.
17. Pads, I sincerely hope she does have happy thoughts from now on. Although she is just standing outside in a flippin awful storm we are having at the moment. Oh my god! I just hope she doesn't shrink otherwise my bum is going to look big in this hee hee!!!! ChristineAnimal, I will give her a big kiss from you, it is definately something to have her and I am just glad I was in a position to save her from the flippin salami factory!! I really do hope my baby Morse is looking down on us and giving us his blessing(flippin heck now I'm crying again!). Hopefully we will have many many years together especially as she is only 8 and apparently their average age is 27 so fingers crossed.
18.   Hi All, Piccies of my new baby, gorgeous isn't she?![:D]
19. Hello All, Piccies of my new baby![:D]
20. Frenchie, Thanks for giving your baby a hug from me. I wholeheartedly agree 10yrs is NOT long and you son is quite correct if only we could have the same dog until it is our time to go. Hopefully you will have many more years to come yet, Thinking of you. Kindest regards Rita
21. Pads, Wonderful advise, Thank you!  Might need a rain coat though or possibly a boat!!!!!!!!
22. Hiya Pads, I have got Lancia(8yr old Percheron) home and she has been an angel, she was a dream going into the trailer(even though I bought the biggest head collar I could get my hands on and it wasn't flippin big enough!) and on the journey home, even coming out she was wonderful. Although now she is in one of my fields she doesn't want to come to me at the moment not even for treaties! Not surprising really she needs to build up some trust so it will be a slow process just hope I can catch her soon! as the vet is coming on Wednesday to look over her and do all her Innoculations and worming etc. I also have to book the farrier as her feet are in a dreadful state and I don't think she has been groomed for yonks so that should be fun too! As she is chunky think she will fit in with our family really well hee hee!!!!!!  She has certainly brought a smile to my face which is the first time since my awful week last week so I hope there are plenty more smiles to come.  I still miss and ache for my baby boy however hopefully Lancia will be able to fill some of that awful gap in my heart. Piccys as soon as I learn how to get them from my camera onto here! Best Wishes Rita
23. Frenchie, Glad you liked the poem and hope giving your dog a big hug made you feel better. Please give him/her a hug from me as it feels so strange not having a baby to hug!
24. Hello Pads, Thanks for those kind words. Her name is 'Lancia' well actually it's 'Lancia 3' she is registered in the French Percheron Stud Book! I am going to keep her name as it part of the thing that I like about her although I wouldn't care what she was called I would still have gone and got her!  It's one of the things though that I think Fate played a part in. They are: 1. Her name, I drive a Lancia(Oh not sure if I should admit to that!). 2. When I went down to see her I looked at her papers and her date of birth is the date hubby and I got engaged! 3. Again on checking her papers she was registered on the 9th September 1999 exactly a year to the date before we got married! So all in all very spooky and in my opinion fate!!!!!!!! Will post a picture of her once I get her home, I am going to collect her on Monday. So hopefully we will be able to build a new life together and help each other get over recent sad times.  However Melissa has posted a picture of her on the posting: Urgent Help Needed for Horses
25.   Hello Everyone, I would just like to say Thank you so much! I have not been on the forum or read my emails for a couple of days since I had to make the heart rending decision to let my beloved 'Morse' go. However I have now read through all of the kind words you have sent and although it has made me cry yet again it is so heart warming. Shannon, I hope you are ok after going with your baby today and of course please do print off the poem to keep. In fact I did not write it! I wish I could take credit for it because I agree with you and think it is truly beautiful! It was sent to me by a very good friend and it is the poem that will go next to a picture of Morse that I am intending to put on the wall. I seem to be able to stop crying for a few hours today however the house feels so empty, as most of you GSD owners know they talk alot and Morse was one that talked most of the time! Chrissie, I sincerely hope you pain is easing now and you are able to remember the good times. I truly miss my boy however I do know that I have done the best thing for him and as I loved him so much it was the only thing I could do! I also know that I will see him again oneday and he will be as he was in his prime. I would like to wish you all the very best for the future and may all of your babies stay well for as long as possible. Good Luck to you all and Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the help and support you gave me whilst Morse was here and for all the support since he has gone. God Bless you all! Just to let you all know I will have a new companion however NOT to replace Morse as such as I had already arranged to save a beautiful Percheron Horse (see post Urgent Help Needed For Horses) and I am going to collect her on Monday so hopefully we will be able to build a new life together andhelp each other get over recent sad times.
