  1. Let us know how it goes. Well the rain has stopped and the winds have died down and would you believe it, now I don't want to watch anything on the flippin thing the satellite signal is brill and tv working a treat!
  2. Thats a thought! Has anyone actually tried doing this and does it work?
  3. Thanks Anton & Timco, We have been having very heavy rain and high winds. Have been in and out to try and check for movement however dish seems to be in exactly the same position as usual. It is however in an exposed position so that maybe the problem as Anton has suggested. Unfortunately it is too high for me to remove and change the location of and hubby is not back until 20th Dec. Oh well serves me right for only watching tv occasionally so will have to go back to the usual internet surfing and reading a book. At least the heatings working!!
  4. The Judge should be removed from the bench, it is an absolute disgrace!
  5. Since we have been having this bad weather (Domfront area)for the last few days I have been having trouble getting a satellite signal. Have checked the dish however it has NOT moved and is still aligned correctly, just the sat signal strength and quality keep fading out! Missed a programme I wanted to watch last night and want to watch another tonight extremely annoying as I hardly watch tv however wanted to see these two programmes(BBC1)Yes I know it' sad but I can't help myself. Has anyone any ideas, or know if and how I could watch on the internet. Thanks
  6. Frenchie, So pleased to hear the Platon is doing so well, will continue to pray that he keeps going.
  7. Christine, Yep her bottom lip was hanging!  As to my wellies believe it or not they are actually at least 5years old, think it's a trick of the camera that they look so clean haha! Chrissie, Thanks! I agree she does deserve to have a good life and I will do everything in my power to make sure she does. She certainly brings a smile to my face and after losing Morse I sincerely thought I wouldn't smile ever again.
  8. Hi Pads, Thanks for that and for NOT mentioning how chunky I look,LOL!!!!![:D]
  9. Thought I would just give a quick update on how Lanica and I are getting on. Some of you know that I rescued her 3months ago just after I had my GSD put to sleep. I had real difficulties with getting her to trust me and allow me to do anything with her including pick her feet up initially. She did start to trust me enough to let me groom her, eventually get her mane and tail untangled although we still struggled to pick her feet up. Then a breakthrough she started to pick her front feet up, Thanks to Trina for helping to get her to do that. However we had to come home and she was a nightmare with her back feet. Some of you already know I have now got a wonderful chap helping us(Richard aka drivinghorses) he has been around 5 times in the last 8days and has worked with both Lancia and myself. Richard took about 15mins to get her to lift her back feet the first time,OMG she could kick for France! lol. Now she just lifts them straightaway and she'll even do it for me, yippee!! Richard is really helping us get our confidence together and has been an absolute angel. Have a look at the pics although please don't look at the state of her feet, farrier coming soon and please don't look at me either no face on and looking chunky, now you know why I've got a Percheron, lol! 15. Hello Christine, We were informed by the French people that were acting as intermediatries originally of the sad news and They are standing by their original news! and are adamant that the owner sent them the end of last week.  They are however going to the owners sometime today to ensure one way or another.
  16. Know just what you mean WJT!!   In line with the ILPH to stop this barbaric transportation could I ask a favour! Your signature is needed as there is a goverment petition to sign and time is running out! All you have to do is go to our website www.equinerescuefrance.org   current projects and then click on petitions, it's as easy as that. Please do this today as your signature is so very important. We can all try and help stop this cruel unnecessary journey for these animals. There are thousands of horses, donkeys and even foals and pregnant mares subjected to days of horrendous travelling conditions, please help them today by giving them a few minutes of your time by signing this petition. Thank you
  17. Amanda61,  Know just what you mean!!!  Don't worry we will certainly keep working to help these poor equines and hopefully eventually we will succeed in getting this barbaric transportation stopped.   www.equinerescuefrance.org
  18. SAD NEWS!!!!!!! I'm very sorry to have to say that the last three Comtois colts that we were trying to save left for Italy on Thursday! This was despite the fact there were homes and purchasers for them but in the end the owner didn't wait for the arrangements to be made for payment to be made and collection of the colts. These are the difficulties we have to face in France when dealing with some owners. If the meat lorry turns up prior to payment being made the horses are gone!! Apparently they are in Turin now and will be slaughtered on Monday......where they are kept until that time is anyones guess. This is the very sad reality of the horse meat trade and why each and every horse that is saved from the whole traumatic experience that occurs BEFORE they get to die is so important to us. [:(][:(]
