    GSD Found!

Christine, Thanks for those kind words, I know it is really spooky that he was in her field! Of all the places to find him! I will try to get a photo on here asap although at the moment he is sprawled across my lounge rug fast asleep, think the bath took it out of him lol!! So far he has managed to keep down the two small meals he has had so am keeping my fingers crossed, he hasn't yet been to the toilet(at all!) though and he isn't drinking that much. He seems to be happy enough and when I walk back into the room he lifts his head and wags his tail so I must be doing something right. WBB, Yeah why did he chose me?! probably heard that I'm a soft touch[:D] also that I'm mad about GSD's. I am a great believer in things happen for a reason, even if you don't know why at the time. Look at the way Lancia just turned up[kiss], right as I had to make the awful decision to let Morse go[:(] I do hope for his sake we find his owners though as he is this age and obviously will have a bond with them.

    GSD Found!

Hi, Went to feed my Percheron this morning and found an old Male German Shepherd Dog in her field with her. He had No collar, No Tattoo and after a visit to the vets we now know he has No microchip either!lol[:@].  He may have been wandering for some time as he is exceptionally thin and extremely tired bless his heart, he was even sick earlier and he brought up some sort of furry animal.  Have notified the local authorities and the commune(Domfront, dept 61) are going to put an announcement in the local paper. I have also informed them that he can stay with me until we can find his owner(can't bear the thought of him being in the pound!)  He was found in St Gilles des Marais(dept 61 near Domfront) He is approx 8yrs old, short haired, lovely looking however unfortunately his back end is going. He is great in the car and the house and is extremely gentle.[kiss] If anyone has or knows anyone that has lost an old GSD in or around the area of Domfront/St Gilles des Marais please get in touch. He has been fed and watered and even had a bath so he is being well looked after I can assure you.   However if he is not claimed then I will keep him here with me(and theres' me saying I wouldn't ever have another dog after losing Morse last year)lol!  Am hoping that we can find his owner for his sake though as I am sure he would be happier in his usual home and before I get too attached to him.
  3. OMG!!!! I sincerely hope not. [:(]  This is not just for the Brits! It's open to all nationalities in fact we have french people already interested.
  4. The Evening that is currently being arranged will include Motown & Disco NOT just Northern Soul. Should be a great evening, will update when date etc has been confirmed.
  5. "This time it was a big one, can't believe it." Hey Christine, Congratulations on the BIG 30!![;-)][kiss]
  6. Any Soulies/Disco Divas or Motown Groupies out there?!  If so have a look at this thread: http://normandy.angloinfo.com/forum/topic.asp?topic_id=17233
  7. Ashes to Ashes part 1 of 8 episodes starts next Thursday BBC1 @10pm French time. If it's anywhere near as good as Life on Mars I am going to be one very happy girl.[:D]
  8. Well done you!  It is so wonderful to hear of a good outcome for someone, sometimes all the doom and gloom can be very disheartening for people. Just goes to show what a bit of determination and get up and go can do. Good luck for the future.
  9. Well Done and Good Luck for Monday.[:)] By the way what area are you in and what type of work is it?
  10. He looks lovely and seems to have a mischevious look in his eye, lol! Well Done you for taking this boy in, I hope you will all be very happy together.
  11. Thanks for that Christine, it does look as though someone has come forward to save him Thank goodness. As to the problem with having him cut! I think some people have been thinking of the costs involved and also where to put him until he has been done because they have Mares!!
  12. Christine, I already knew about this boy, I have been asking everyone I can think of and unfortuntely no one so far wants a youngster!![:(] Especially as these heavies cannot do too much until they are over 4years old, also some have told me they don't want to go through having to have him cut. Hopefully Dobsie will know someone. Am keeping my fingers crossed for him, hopefully someone will come forward before it's too late.

    So sad

You are in my thoughts! At least you were a loving owner that ler her go with some dignity.
  14. Cooperlola, Glad to hear your friend was able to get a pony. Such a shame it is now lame, always a bit of a risk when introducing a new companion, lol!  Hope it gets better soon and your friend enjoys her new charge.   I found out about the awful  problem in Amersham yesterday! Absolutely dreadful state of affairs[:@], it just goes to show that this sort of treatment of animals does go on in the UK and not just Frace and other countries. The fact that the RSPCA have know about this problem for a while and done nothing about i is absolutely appalling IMHO!!  RIP to all those that have gone[:(] and may all the others find caring and loving homes in the future.
  15. Cooperlola, Sorry have only just seen your post! however glad you are sorted now, Good luck.[kiss]
  16. Eco Ferme, You are quite correct about the Percheron being a wonderful breed, although I think  may be slightly biased as I absolutely adore my girl.[:D] I have a wonderful chap,Richard known as DrivingHorses helping me school her. We are pretty sure she has never had a bit in her mouth it is just so soft. We have been long reigning her and Richard and I are going to school her for working on the land as Richard already does this with his heavies(Bretons,Shire & Gypsy Cob). I loved your website and seeing your photo's of you working your Percherons, IMHO there is nothing better than seeing heavies actually doing what they were meant for. Regards
  17. [:D][:D][:D] Thanks for that Bugbear it gives me something to laugh about as.... that's me out of here, have to go poo pick now, yummy!!![+o(]
  18. Bugbear, She must have trained them all so well to make them sit like that. 15lol! That's a great age, hope he will see another few years yet. Never had Boxers...... Bernese Mountain Dogs and German Shepherds! although have always loved the Boxers and my hubby is besotted with them.   Panda, That is so sweet...bless him!
  19. Bugbear, Are they really all yours, they are gorgeous! I miss my boy and not having a dog around doing all those silly things they do...... still too raw to think of getting another one. Do love to see the pics of others though.
  20. Hello Martinwatkins, You are quite correct that I have stated the dish does not appear to have moved and yet I also stated that it is too high for me to remove! The reason being whilst I can climb the ladder to see that the markings previously made when setting up the dish on the fixtures and it appears the dish nor lnb had moved. I am unable to climb the ladder and remove the dish on my own and as previously mentioned hubby is not back home until 20th. Perhaps it's just a weak girly thing!![:D][:D] The reception is fine now the awful weather has ceased, however I have looked at it and you are quite right there is a tree in the path of the dish so it looks like that will have be trimmed somewhat to prevent this happening again in the future. Thanks
