We have one but found it to be ineffective - weeds grow back quickly as roots are not killed only the top foilage - seemed to use alot of gas in a short space of time!!!   Jo    

yes!! its me again!! what a brill site for help from people 'in the know'!!!!    Over the last couple of years we have experienced alot of little black beetles at our house.  The property is in a rural area and the beetles are black and very small with a hard shell. they walk slowley but there seems to be dozens of them in and around the fireplace areas.  Does anyone know what they are and how I go about trying to get rid of them. 

In our house in france the floor is mainly unsealed quarry tiles.  We are contemplating taking them up and having a dpc put in, but I have heard that this will only drive the damp up the walls.  Does anyone have any experience as to the best thing to do.  Our house is built of stone.  If the tiles are to stay can anyone recommend a product/s to clean and seal the tiles if this is our best option.

we have had our tank emptied once since we have had our property, but it now needs doing again.  the man we used before did it as a 'foreigner' and we now believe that he has moved away. can anyone help - what is the procedure for getting these tanks emptied - do the council do it or is it done by private companies.
