  1. I have just used Paypal to send money to my French bank account and it has cost me NOTHING.  Also, Paypal uses business rates for the conversion to Euros.  I'm not suggesting using this for very large amounts, but this way I can top up my French account so that my prelevements automatiques always go through. You need a UK paypal account which uploads from a BANK account, not credit card.  You will also need a French Paypal account with bank account details attached (This means you also need a French e-mail address - I used yahoo.fr).  Payapl.fr is in French so you do need to be able to read a bit, but the UK and FR sites are identical apart from the language.  Just follow the instructions.  SO EASY.  Jess
  2. Thanks to all of you.  It's so much easier to get a straight answer to a direct question than try to wade through all the other postings, especially when you don't recognise all the place names mentioned.
  3.  Hello Friends   We have a house in 33 and travel from the NE of England.  We have given up on Brittany Ferries as too expensive (lack of competition methinks!) and now that we have three kids (twins born 5 weeks ago) the cabins are too small.  Anyway on our last few trips we have crossed Dover Calais and driven down to Rouen and stayed overnight there.  Then we have headed for Chartres to join the A10.  In my 2005 atlas for France, I notice that the A28 is due for completion between Rouen and Tours early in 2006.  I also notice from various other postings that the road will be under a number of providers.  Without visiting all their separate sites and trying to work it out, can anyone out there please let me know if I can now drive all the way from Rouen to Tours on the new autoroute?   If not yet finished, how far can I get down from Rouen before the autoroute runs out?  And has anyone seen a final completion date for this full stretch?   Cheers    Jess
