I shall be installing a swimming pool in the autumn for 3 gites, each with 3 bedrooms. Can someone give me some advice as to what size it should be, and also which construction method to use?  I've heard from people that liners are a problem to clean and one person who said they have got wrinkles in it.  Fibreglass pools are easier to fit but are limited on size (4.3 X 10.3 Mtrs Maximum).  Tiled pools are a lot of work and could work out expensive I think. I've also read on the forum about Direct Injection Chlorine.  Any advice on this and where to buy would be appreciated.  I live between departments 81, 34 and 11. Jules

A friend of mine is holding my shotgun in the UK for me, in the hope of being able to send it over to me. Can anyone tell me how to apply for a shotgun licence in France so that I can get a temporary licence in the UK to bring it over?  If there is another way it can be done, please tell me. Thanks[:^)]

Yes, I have received the letter to which you refer in the last 8 days, but this time from the Tarn CPAM, as we have recently moved.  I too had already received my calculations (Correctly this time), so only panicked everso slightly.  I rang CPAM and was told it was a computer error, and to ignore it. The much more serious problem I was referring to, was for the last health year in the Aude.  I have been through an official complaints procedure, and it was here that the documents disappeared from a registered envelope!

For those of you who feel they are morally wrong to accept cheap/free French health cover and would feel happier if they were contributing more, I have unwillingly discovered how this can be done.  If you don't provide proof of earnings on which your contributions are calculated, there is a regulation which allows CPAM to charge you as they see fit - in my case, over 10 times more than should have been calculated! And why did I not provide proof of earnings?  Oh I did, but they were somehow "lost" at CPAM, Carcassonne.  I contested the decision, and enclosed my proof of earnings again - all posted to CPAM by recorded delivery.  Guess what? They have disappeared again and the decision stands. I wonder how often this sort of thing happens, and what conclusions can be drawn?

I am living in the Tarn (81) and would like to buy a digger for digging out a swimming pool, septic tank and drainage etc. Is there anyone who can let me know what to look for when buying a digger second hand, and where to buy one from. Thanks Jules

Can anyone help me with insurance for my TVR?  It is registered in the UK but I would change it to French if the insurance cost is reduced considerably.  Most insurance companies in France don't recognise the make.  Thanks.
