  1. Oh dear........I have just taken a phone call from someone at ANPE asking me if I am still looking for work, I explained I am working on cheques emploi in the mornings, she asked who for , how long for , hours worked etc......I am not phased one bit about all these questions, I just find it rather amusing that this comes on the back of a dispute with a neighbour whose friend then went out of her way to ask me if I am working! I gave minimum info back ie yes I work for 2 hour each morning, which did not take a brain surgeon to work out seeing as I leave the house at 9.55 each day and return at 12.05.

never mind I am the one with the clear concience.

  2. And just to call me a liar I have been out to the Champion where I have been shopping for 4 years  and has moved the baking powder near the sugar and cake decorating stuff!

Go to Lidl, it is always near the flour and eggs!

  3. Go and get your self registered into the system ASAP, if in the interim of waiting for you cate vital to arrive you need to see a doctor, you will need to pay for your treatment, you will be given a form to complete at home (you should be issued with a SS no at the CPAM, ) so you fill out the form send it to your caisse and eventually.....could be about 6 weeks ....you will get your money back.

    Opas

I think this has been a standard way to eat natural yoghout and fromage blanc etc. for years and years. I certainly remember the family eating these foods with sugar when I au-paired and that was a long time ago.[blink]

About 13 years ago our first holiday with our eldest daughter was in France, en route to our destination we stayed in a chambre d'hote, the 9 month old was offered yogurt with sugar for her breakfast, I was quite horrified by that as UK health Visitors all dictacted that nothing sweet or salt was added to babys diet.........

I am just curious as to why French folks feel the need to sweeten up a perfectly good Yogurt or fromage blanc with sugar.........and the child I look after doesn't complain when I do not put sugar on the table  for her yogurt when her mother or cleaner arn't around to wait on her every need.

This from someone who could polish off a box of chocs tout seul, but i wouldn't dream of eating plain yogurt except au naturel....

  5. Off topic I know but how many of your guests who take plain yogurt for breakfast laddle sugar in it? and what nationality.? the reason I ask is my 3 year old charge is left 2 sachets/sticks of sugar for one petit filous (minature ) plain yougurt. The crunch makes me cringe!
  6. This is sooo true!  I know of a Brit plated red escort that has been permanently in our area for over 2 years , the other day I was walking behind this car owner/driver in the municiple car park, he was having a right old whinge at his companion about how his insurance is arguing with him over a claim he has made.

I was parked about 3 spaces after his car........he had a front spoiler totaly wrecked and a dented wing, I just wondered what the other car looked like and how they ( the other party) were faring in their claim!

Just get ligit , it is easy, doesn't cost a great amount and the CT (mot) is valid for 2 years........and insurance prices are comparable.

  7. Does your school not have a contract for the parents and child to read and sign? we have one about  pages thick of all the schoolrules , re not hitting, stealing etc.

I am afraid you must be a rather more patient parent than me though as to this incident as I a m sure I would have ended up in a fight with this woman if she had treated my girls like that in front of me.  A similar incient happened to my eldest in UK when she was 5, I didn't witness it , one of the other mums had who had arrived at school early, I didn't actually take too much notice of what she said at the time and thought she was exagerating.........untill I saw the tight finger hold marks on my daughters wrist that night.  I made a formal complaint and she was dismissed from the school(she was a supply teacher)

panda, nothing official may happen if the poster makes a complaint, but It may make the teacher take stock of herself!

Chezstevens, as opas has explained, that is not possible.

And opas, surely to walk out with the goods, they would have to be scanned to get through the store's 'exit system' - and doing that would create another computerised demand for payment?

    Exactly!

I worked for 10 years on checkouts and customer sevices for ASDA and know a lot of fiddles............non of which I have personally practiced but have lost what I thought were good friends through their own fiddlings of the system, some of these fiddles include setting up their fellow colleagues. I had one done to me , a lot of money, and i do not mean a few quid was missing from the till i had been working, i named 2 suspects, one went off on long term sick leave and the other , a manager was moved to another store.........strange that my till was the one infront of the security camera that appeared to not be working on that day. Bitter, you bet! I nearly handed in my notice, my manager persuaded me not to. I hate dishonesty.

  9. No they couldn't , not if an electric till is used. There is a "read" done, this then prints out a till receipt that tells the "reader" ie the cash office/manager(whoever perfoms this task) how much has been taken in Cash, same in Cheques and again by EFT(credit card) same for coupons/gift vouchers or any other means of payment one can think of.  The money/cheques taken etc then have to tally with this till receipt.  The only way I can think that the operator could benefit from this would be to literally walk out of the store at the end of his/her shift with all the goods that had been "accidently" rung on to your bill!
  10. Also strangly enough , not everything that is covered by ALD is actually 100% covered. An example of this is, my daughter has a rare syndrome, her circulation is affected, this year she was offered some made to measure support tights, they cost roughly 50 euros we received back about 35 euros. I have checked this with the local CPAM and this is how it is!
  11. I nearly posted the same reply, but thought I may get slatted!

When I first started work there was a lady in my office who had a handfull of beautifull rings, she said they were all diamonds but the sparkle was helped along with a drink of gin!  When my rings start to look a bit cruddy, If I forget to take them off whilst baking , I use an old tooth brush after soaking them in a cup of warm soapy water.
