My tree goes back in the garden, I bought one with roots 4 years ago and have dug it up each year.
The house where I work finaly took their decs down on Friday........the tree had been nearly bald for about 10days, it was burnt on their open fire whilst I was there.
One house in our village has had decorations at the windows since we bought our house (about 6 years). I too find it scruffy/tacky when houses still have Santas etc up mid year............Mind you I did hear on the telly that some major supermarkets in the UK had Easter eggs on sale on the 2nd of jan[:-))]

Yesterday we received a letter from the Notaire, it informs us that the dossier of the deceased has been passed to the Service des Domaines at the Tresorerie Generale.
We shall just have to wait again now.

Mr O was on telly a few times playing with the Hazel Essex Guitar and Banjo band.......look em up, they are good! (I am informed she is now hazel Davies)

I met the Goodies when they filmed one of the series at the end of the street where I grew up.
Mr O and I Skippered and crewed a yacht with Cathy ( of Countdown fame....she did the letters, Carol Vauderman used to only do the numbers) and her Dentist manfriend.
I worked with Shane Ward before he was famous.[;-)]

[:-))] We buy the girls school ins with Mae each year and take the top tarrif to cover us all for sports (not that we are sporty orientated ...just in case)
Anyway i have been asked to go on the schools classe de neige this year as a parent helper, so it was nice to know that they are insuring me for my medical costs![+o(] I have never been skiing before so they may well need to use some of their insurance[Www].........I must remember to ask them to check the policy for my 350 euro glasses[geek]

I am so pleased I booked with Norfolkline now......... I bet Speedferries charge passengers 15 pounds per head to re-book their passengers onto a new sailing[:-))]

I have a very generous neighbour who lets me use his second car when my husband works away for a few weeks at a time. We contacted his insurer)Credit Agricole) who said that as long as I hold a full licence and have permission from the owner then there is no problem......I cannot remember now if I am fully insured or only for the other person(3rd party)

[:D] Hello, we did manage to sell a RHD French reg car in France .......to a fench lady who had lived in England for a couple of years. I think we were lucky, we had plenty of people looking at the car, as we just put a notice in its window and it was a good looking car and a real bargain (as the French seem to put very high prices on second hand cars) we got more than the market price in UK and a lot less thn the french would have asked, but most viewers were affraid of the RHD.
If I were you i should look for ex-pat publications in your area and try there first. these are usually in the racks in the doorways to supermarkests along with the immo mags..

Youy're right of course Debbie but surely this is the sort of thing (E forms) that you get sorted in advance of coming, not 9 months later?
It's not uncommon though! (And I'm not a Debbie, btw!- that really does make me sound like a hairdresser....)
When I read what you had been called it made me cringe, I too am a Deborah, Debbie makes me feel about 5 years old [:'(]

I googled my name and found out I am a Pianist, looking further down the list I see that one of Mr Os relatives owns a vineyard in California!

Its a great area to live, dept 66 has everything as the previous poster said sea, sun and snow , with mainly blue skies to brighten up any winter day. My youngest daughter has gone for the weekend to an ex neighbour, she has moved only 20ks from us, but she was excited at the prospect of sledging this weekend......whereas we have only got frost!

Thank you, I went to the taxi office yesterday and sorted it all out., although I havn`t signed anything , so i suppose the driver will ask me to do that on the day........there is also a part on that form for the public transport system, how would that one work out? I would have liked to take the train,it takes the coast road just about the whole route but with the intermitent strikes that one was definatly out of the question this time.

Usually we travel to the hospital (over 150keach way) in our own car and claim back the costs. my husband is working away at the moment and although I have use of a car which a neighbour has lent me I have decided it would be easier if I use the taxi system with a bonne transport. I have got the papers from the doctor, and now have to go and find a taxi that will be available...... My question is, will i have to pay and then claim this back or does the taxi firm foot the bill and then claim back on my behalf?

I draw a line at even looking at ladies used undies!

lets not argue with each other over who was treated worse or better! If you have a genuine grevance , take note of the names of the staff on duty and lodge a complaint with Mr O`Leary........And if you do not like the treatment you get, vote with your wallet.

When I fly Ryanair I always carry a rucksack (as do my girls) I make sure that I have my allowance ie 10 kilos of hand luggage , a bit less for the girls....after all it is not carried far, from a trolly to a seat in the lounge , then from the lounge to the plane, from the plane to the luggage collection area. I take one bag for the hold which I fill to baggage allowance of 15killo between the 3 of us.
Last time I flew ryanair was frm Malta to Gerona at Autumn half term........the announcement was made that the flight was boarding, every one stood up in line....we sat back down as it was apparent (we could see the plane through the window) that it hadn`t even unloaded its passengers let alone their luggage, 30 mins later and the passengers were still jostleing for possition with their backpacks etc .....no one HAS to stand and wait, you can sit there and wait as we did....we still got a seat. I had explained to the girls that we may have to sit separatly (but usually folks traveling singly will swap round if asked politly) but it did`nt happen that way....we got a row of seats.
Ryan air......I love `em , they enable me to travel cheaper through Europe than I can accross Greater Manchester!
Read everything carefully , check or uncheck the boxes as aproprate and you will not be ripped off.

I have just got back from the garage, it was a turbo sensor....the cost was roughly 130.00 euros. the car is very responsive and it has just had a drive down the voie rapide.....will try some hills tomorrow!

I didn`t realise it was so expensive to change ownership, that calculation seems to be more expensive than I paid to re reg my cars.
Thanks

Have you contacted VTech themselves in the UK?
I did a few weeks ago and received an answer within a few hours.......my query was rather silly really, the lady who I work for wanted to buy her daughter the Dora laptop in English, a friend of mine in Edinbourgh said he would bring one for her.....I panicked thinking that this toy may hava scotish accent (nowt wrong with that ,,,,,except that my little carge may not understand it) their answer confirmed it would speak generic English.
I found the site easily enough, but I will look through my e-mails to see if I have the link.
found it <>

I have re registered a couple of cars here and know the procedure etc...but now I am helping a friend who has bought a french reg car, how much does it cost to get a new carte gris (the change of ownership/address etc)

I think I'm turning into a horse. No, I'm not growing a tail and neighing. It's the quantity and - (excuse me) - the size of the waste product that is becoming horse-like.
Was enjoying my breakfast, Patrick, too much information. [+o(] [+o(] [:P]
Perhaps a few tinned prunes....in natural juices of course.
My dad was also recomended porridge when he was diagnosed as diabetic.....use skimmed milk though and he uses powdered canderel to sweeten it......His colestrol level dropped too!

oops done it again!
this morning I have been to another vide grenier...our eldest has been telling me she MUST have a new coat.....the fact that I bought a winter coat for her in january (we do have a very short winter down here) that one is not this years fashion! her mate had one of these MUST have fashion items from Etam , only 80 euros i was informed! So this morning whilst browsing I spot what a person of my age (late 40s) would call a crombie coat in MUST have black! so I paid the asked for 2 euros, It is wool and could do with a dry clean. She is over the moon , apparently it is a Mark(which I have never heard of[:-))]) she tried it on and is a great fit, she shoved her hands in the pockets and brought our some receipts, a pack of tissues ,a shopping list and a Euro coin!
Also bought a wheel with a new tyre on it that will fit our trailor(we have one bald tyre) if the rim turns out to be bent then the tyre will be put onto our rim.....3 euros, would cost 20 euros for just the tyre at our local trailor shop.
I keep a diary in my hand bag with sizes/measurements of stuff I need so I do not have to guess .
