1. Stephen, I couldn't agree more about Uzerche. We have spent hours in traffic jams into and out of this place. It was a nightmare when we were towing a caravan to climb the hills if we got stuck behind a lorry. Now it is lovely. We visited last year and we were amazed at what we found behind the main N20.
2. Pete, Certainly Oradour-sur-Glane is a definite place to visit, but a fair distance if you are only there for the weekend. www.oradour.org Here are a few more suggestions: Lac de Vassiviere - www.vassiviere.com Beaulieu sur Dordogne -  www.beaulieu-sur-dordogne.fr Chateau de Turenne - www.chateau-turenne.com But the real beauty of France is that you set out for one place and end up finding loads of other places on the way. Have a good time
3. Just found this site which might be of interest to anyone wanting to go skiing this winter. www.skifrance.fr with pages in english
4.
I use XP and don't have the horrendous problems that many people are reporting (though do get some of them). Reading between the lines of messages I have seen from the forum developers, it seem that t...
Will I know what you are saying about javascript but the thing is I don't have any problems with any other websites or forums and that is what is so annoying. When I used the PC as opposed to the laptop I did not do anything, no switching of Norton etc. It just worked! I had a look through the help on the instantforums web link but could not see any thing that would help, so I shall just have to use the PC if I want to alter anything.
5. We were down at Argeles sur mer this summer and spent a lot of time visiting the Pyrenees. We stayed in an apartment on the coast that also has studios and apartments at La Mongie and Font Romeu. We only have a summer brochure so have no idea of prices for winter but the company has a website www.maeva.com. We were very pleased with the accommodation we had.
6. I would like to know what version of windows people are using if they are having problems. When I posted the original qustion I was using my laptop with windows XP and I still have no control panel to access. I work on my website on a PC using windows 98 and just happened to check if that produced the same problems - whoopee! that works and shows the control panel etc. So is there a compatability problem with some versions of windows? Jill3
7. Page has been refreshed - still doesn't work properly. I can usually fix most things on my computer but this has got me beat, and it is so frustrating! I've got all the smilies and text editing tools for messages which other people say they have not got. Are the people who put this software together looking at these problems? Jill3
8. I have switched off Norton and also the pop up blocker is off and I still have no control panel. Surely you shouldn't have to fiddle like this to access this forum. I don't do this on other forums Also the names of people posting still does not appear automatically. It just says forum newbie or whatever Jill3
9. If you are going to travel on the motorway from Calais I would get on it and go to a service area not an 'aire de repos'. Calais still has a lot of problems with assylum seekers and I would be nervous about parking there overnight. Also the caravan clubs warn about staying in 'aire de repos' if there is no-one else about, as there have been a lot of thefts from such places. If you get a Michelin autoroute mapbook it shows all the service areas and the distance between them. Good Luck Jill3
10. My daughter works for bmibaby and if you don't turn up for your flight they are not bothered because you have paid for your flight and they will resell to anyone waiting on standby. With all the low cost airlines you book your flights as out and back at 2 seperate prices, you can even make 2 seperate bookings. If you fly with BA or Air France etc they usually offer the best prices as a return journey and you would probably find that if you did not check in on the outward leg they would assume you would not be returning. Just as a matter of interest if you only want to go one way why don't you just book the journey you want? Why pay for a leg you are not using? Jill3
11. I don't quite understand what goes on here. You are not supposed to post messages advertising your goods or services and yet there are loads of replies to postings containing website links to their own business, plus often a lot of information about what they can do you. Is that advertising?
12. LAST EDITED ON 04-Feb-04 AT 06:47 AM (GMT) Can't post replies to forum. Error page appears referring me to Admin Now that's funny 'cos this has worked! What is going on?
