1. Section 1.  Theft Act 1978. The warning was posted with every good intention but it is a hoax.  See http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/scams/phone.htm and http://www.theregister.co.uk/2004/12/20/icstis_phone_hoax/
 2.
Thin ice Levelstep, very thin ice!!!!!!    [:-))]
I qualify to play rugby for Wales having a Welsh grandmother.  I sit awaiting the call, but the phone never rings!
 3. Perhaps you mean English speaking rather than English?  I know a number of Welsh here in Brittany, and despite that handicap they are able to speak passable English.
 4.
These people sound as though they're daft - I mean going to a foreign country with no map........
The only calls that I receive from 'lost' clients are those that rely on Sat Nav.  I am in Huelgoat (Hwell-Gwatt) which is a difficult name to pronounce, even for non Breton French tourists.  One UK client arrived very annoyed.  He had asked a Gendarme for directions to Hule Goat and the copper had never heard of it even though it was only 15 Kms away.  "What sort of Police Force have you got here?" he asked on arrival!
 5.

We are in a town, (Huelgoat 29).
Do you know John and Gala Robinson?  They have a B&B in Huelgoat - lovely little place, up the road from the bar (which I think was run by a Yorkshire lady and her hubby last we were there on holiday, some years ago) on rue docteur something I think.
Oh Yes!! John and Gala are in Rue Docteur Jacq, and 'Yorkshire' Mickey and her French husband Yann are in Rue General de Gaulle.  (I will often be found near to the bar!).

 7.
They are a little disconcerted to find that they are the only English guests.  As we were English they didn't think we took French!!!
No doubt their local Indian Restaurant only serves people from the Sub-Continent!!! We are in a town, (Huelgoat 29).  A few days ago a French registered car stopped outside our place and the woman passenger got out of the car to read our details of tariff and also the 'full - complet' sign. I assumed that she was French and started to tell her (in French) where another B&B is situated.  I had spoken no more than 5 or 6 words when she threw her right hand up like a Policeman stopping oncoming traffic.  "I'm English.  No Speak.  No Speak", she shrieked in a panicky voice. On the subject of guests washing. Our washing machine is working overtime with bedding etc at the moment.  In the winter months we have allowed a few guests that are staying for more than a couple of nights to use the machine at no extra cost to them.
 8. What a great thread. And I thought that we were the only ones! I have been asked where to go to eat 'proper' English food instead of this French stuff.  I was informed the following morning that 'proper' English food is available in a near by restaurant.  "They do Pizza. Just like in England". I have also been asked to 'do something' about the weather on more than one occassion!!!
 9. If you meant Pontrieux, try http://pontrieuxbedandbreakfast.smarttortoise.com
 10. Russethouse - thank you. Why has it not again been deleted if it does not comply?
 11. Another site is well known for deleting postings.  In view of this I no longer use it.  I did not realise that this site also censors postings.
 12. You are asking advice from other B&B operators on how to break the law?  Sorry - can't help there. I am amazed by the audacity of your posting. I could write my reply in much stronger language, but have managed to restrain myself from doing so. Allan. (Running a B&B and struggling to pay very high French charges).
 13.
hi allhas anyone got b&b accommodation or a small gite available in Brittany for the dates 18th May - 24th May 2005 ?I will consider any location in Brittany really as I will be travelling around qui...
Hello, have sent you a private message. Allan.
 14. I sent a response via email from this forum regarding your trip to Brittany in June.  Hopefully you have received it. If not - please let me know on here - and I will re-send it to you. Good luck in your property search, Allan - Huelgoat, Finistére.
