My wife and I are buying a house in France. We are in our first (and only) marriage, and we have no children. When I come to shuffle off my mortal coil I want my wife to inherit the house, no ifs or buts or taxes. And the same if she goes first. In the compromis the notaire says that we buy in the following manner: "acquiert la pleine propriete indivis a concurrence de la moitie" then my wife "a concurrence de l'autre moitie." He assures us this will give us what we want, although elsewhere I have heard of tontines and "donation entre epouses." Are we going to be OK?

I remember an interviewer asking Priti Patel why she was campaigning for Brexit, and she started talking about Brussels bureaucracy, red tape, etc etc, and the interviewer asked her to give a specific example of over-regulation, and she said "Packaging". So there you are. We are leaving the EU because Priti Patel doesn't like EU rules on packaging. This woman is now a Cabinet minister.

My flight on Tuesday 14th was cancelled because of a strike. Ryanair's website has directed me to a link for getting the fare refunded, but all it tells me is that "it can't deal with my request at the moment." I've tried several dozen times. I can't find a phone number on their website. Does anyone have one? Does anyone know of a magic way to get money back from Mr O'Leary?
