  5. Hello, I hope there is some kind person who can help, we are returning to the uk next month and did not realise I would need to have our cat vac 6 months before departure.  The children are deverstated and we have even considered trying to hide her in the car on our return(yes I know its wrong but for crying children make you think irational thoughts!) Becky, the cat was a rescue cat from UK who had been abused by young children when she came to us.  She is a small tabby female about eight years old.  She lives outside all year and is just fed once a day.  we only really see her at her meal time, she gets on fine with other cats but really likes being alone hidding or mouse catching. As I metioned above she lives outside but i feel would come in doors if there were less noise if someone wanted company, she is very gentel and just needs to be fed and the odd stroke. I front line her every other month and apart from that she has always been healthy. Any animal lovers out there, please consider adopting our scaredy cat Becky

  8. just a bit of info you may be interested in. we are selling our house with a pool, we have put up a 1.3 fence with self closing gate etc all solid and child proof because we have young children not because of any legal req as we already have an aproved alarm. When the notiare asked about the pool he asked for the cert that came with the alarm, I did not have the cert to hand but told him the pool was also fenced.  He then informed me that the fence was not approved and i questioned him to how he knew?? (low flying helicopters or ex ray sight i wondered?? He then produced a picture taken buy the guy who came round to do ther termite test of the pool and fencing??  not that i am paronoid but is big brother watching?? the notiare said any houses sold with out an approved method could be fined and he would need the cert before the sale could be completed just to let you know regards

  18. HELP please I really thought I understood it! (although very basic) Very briefly, we moved over Jan 04, I am taxed at source due to an illhealth NHS pension.  Last year I was sent a form which I think had imports declaration, it on one sheet of paper asking for details or earnings ect. which I returned and filled in.  I heard nothing - no news good news In sep o4 I panicked as I heard about tax forms and fines (I was not totally with it as i was due to give birth to twins at anytime!)which needed to be filled so I asked at our office and the kind women looked our name up and said we  were ok all up to date with nothing to pay. This year I have had my "Coverture Maladie Universelle" from securite social form, which I filled in but had it returned asking for my Avis d'imposition, where I am directed to another imports office and asked to complete a very complicated looking Declaration des revenus. Could someone explain the difference between what i did and should have and do I have to complete the Declaration des revenus if the uk tax office deal with my returns? hope this make sense to someone out there
  19. hi, thanks for getting back so quick, I will not be taking the littles ones in today! The pool is outside and we are in 17.  We can just about maintain the levels  1.3  but the ph is ok, now and again we have to increase it. We were advised to have the bromine system by the installers of the pool, Alliance picines as I did not want to have cholrine as the older children spend so long in the water .  When we phoned the pool supplier last year as we had even less brome in the pool and could not get the bromine to register on the colour scale they came and moved the brominater, it did help but they are a new company and seem to have little experience of the chemical side. I have been reading about the pools and the books have said the same regarding outside pools and bromine.  If this is so why do the pool shops have such supplies of bromine surely the buyers cant all have indoor pools in this part of france? I realy appreciate your help, and what would we need to do to change system to chlorine? thanks again
  20. hi, has any one any experience of a bromine pool, ours is a year old 11x5 shell type pool.  It runs around 30 deg but we have trouble keeping the brome levels up to the min level unless we shock it every couple of days.  We are running the pump 24 / 7 at max brome input. If we dont shock it it tends to go green quite quickly.  We have 6month old twins who we take in each day and so I am a bit concerned as to the levels any one with suggestions or experience would be a help thanks
  21. Hi where abouts are you in 79? I am just over the border in 17 and have twin girls and it would be great to meet other new mums.
  22. Hi, My 10 year old has a number of problems and is in main stream school at present.  With the help of the school psychologist and teachers she has been referred to the commission for specialist education and it appears they have suggested she attends an Esablissement spécialise i am not sure what this is has anyone any experience.   We are told it is a complete package ie health, psychology and education and if it though best the child can board monday to friday.  we live in 17 and have been informed there are three in this district and would appreciate any info thanks
  23. Hi Although our children are at St Jean D'Angley, I have heard the college at St Savinien is opening a dyslexic unit next year which is the only one I know of in the area.  This seem to imply its more progressive than most! Dont know if your new to the area but would recommend the restaurant near the boating lake!
