1. Are there any Dutch people out there or anybody who knows any Dutch people who can help us advertise our property privately and on Dutch website? There are plenty of U.K. websites for private house sales, I assume that there must be Dutch equivalents out there? Anyway, if there's anybody who might have this information we would be grateful for your assistance. Regards Mark & Frances
2. I will contact you soon , MrsNickD , I have just looked at the forum and was wondering if anyone has had any problems with the education authorities in regard to the british families not following the required french curriculum that home ed french kids are required to follow. Although i can speak french to a degree , certainly its not to the level necessary to do this , even if I had wanted to. Because I would be withdrawing them from school , the authorities would know where i am & I cannot elude them. Has anyone had any expirence of dealings with them? Many thanks for your thoughts & views. Fran.
3. I agree with what you say about exams & while this is true , the western culture we live in requires us to have certain qualifications in order to follow a certain profession. Its just the way it is. If you know what career you want to follow you can take just the ones you need. I have read a book by Gareth Lewis called "unqualified education" which talks about this very thing & offers stacks of pratical adivice on learning at home for 11-18 yr olds It is written by a home edding family living in france. www.nezertbooks.net     email:[email protected] Fran
4. We have found that school life for our two childern has been incredibly tough going- for reasons I dont have the space to go into here. I am now contemplating home education. We have to stay in france for 3-4 years but still see the uk as our home long term , therefore I am thinking about taking british qualifications & wondered if anyone has done corresponse courses from the uk & how that has worked? I have previously home educated my kids in the uk, but hoped that smaller class sizes & the small rural community we live in would be better, it isnt working out this way. I would also be intrested to hear  ( i realise the chances are pretty slim) from any home educating families living in 23 ( creuse). I thank anyone for there help .   Fran Howell.
5.
3103 gives you details of any messages and any previous callers and tells you how many times they tried to call. I've got caller display too which is quite handy if you can't bear the thought of spea...
ah....so...that's what you need to do. Thanks very much that's just the information we were looking for.
6. Thanks for the feed back. I tried the numbers given and they work, only problem is they don't respond when you shout down the phone lentement s.v.p. That aside we have looked at the tele 2 rates compared to FT and the rates are definatly cheaper, however we also checked one tels rates and they seem to be more competitive still. We can change to one tel simply by going on their web site. But;Do we need to contact FT? Do we need to cancel our direct debit to FT? Do we still pay FT for line rental? Will one tel sort all this for us? Reading contracts is one way of finding out the answers-my french isn't up to much and trying to translate the info is a task that i'd rather not atempt. Still we'll get there in the end (me attempting the french laid back approach). Thanks all.
7. Does anybody know if there is a french equivalant of 1471 and if so what is it? Also has anyone got experience of switching from France telecom to onetel?
