Moderating is certainly different on SF and is done by the owner who cannot tolerate any criticism, closing the thread was inevitable.
The fact that you seem to revel in being a **** would indicate that my second point is spot on.

This UK government website seems to suggest that your French long stay visa and short stay Schengen eligibility are separate so you should be okay -

If you stay in France with a French residence permit or long stay visa, this time does not count towards your 90-day visa-free limit for the Schengen area.

And happy year. ALBF has just turned fifty. But I will always remain a child.
If I want to converse with a child I talk to my grandson although as he's only 8 months old conversations tend to be one-sided which thinking about it is a bit like most of the discussions you participate in.
It doesn't have to be like this though, you could leave your 'inner child' at home once in a while and engage in an adult way which you might find is enjoyable.

We did a small shop at Intermarche yesterday and were asked if we wanted a receipt as we paid cash, the customer in front of us was automatically given one as she used her card to pay.

There you go again, if someone who has lived here for nigh on 20 years whilst working and bringing up four children doesn't 'know' France then who the f**k does? Even though we have only ever lived in one department we have experienced most things that a French man or woman would have done - education from Primaire to Uni, countless medical interventions and hospital stays, visits from gendarmes and bailiffs, battling bureaucracy of all kinds etc, etc.
All of the above is just normal life and happens to everyone whether you live in an apartment block in Paris or a mini chateau in the country.

All four of our kids have done or do live in cities here - Paris, Bordeaux, La Rochelle and Poitiers so we are fully aware of the dangers etc, none of them though have told us of the mass poverty and violent crime that ALBF describes so either they live very sheltered lives or it is not as widespread as he makes out.

ALBF has been trying to 'shut people down' on forums for years with his 'I live in real France you don't ****'. There are no real or fake bits of the country just different like everywhere else and to suggest otherwise is absurd.

Utter load of guff as per usual. We live in a rural department where people survive on the SMIC but there's no fighting over 'out of date' food in Lidl.

I was aware of the blog post and saw the BBC drama about the Prof, he worked at the Climate Research Unit near where I used to live.
If that's the sum total of the 'proof' that NASA commit data fraud that's pretty poor.

If you won't accept research results from a body like NASA who have continually studied weather patterns and the climate for decades then what possible proof can anyone give you that mankind is responsible for what we are experiencing now?

I have already acknowledged that since the dawn of time there have been numerous dramatic 'weather events' all over the world but what is happening now is that these events are becoming more frequent, in effect the 'weather patterns' have changed.

Throughout time there have always been 'once in a century' events, unfortunately these are now far more regular and this is down to 'man made' global warming.

Another denier of global warming. Having been caught up in Hurricane Ian just four weeks ago and witnessed the devastation first hand it's clear to see what we have done to the planet.
We're likely to have record high temperatures this weekend followed by a week of solid rain, that's not evolution but a complete destruction of normal weather patterns.

Whilst I agree that to some extent the media can 'make or break' a politician's career it is the individual themselves who takes the conscious decision to climb the greasy pole of politics and they do so in the full knowledge that should they screw up the media will be merciless.

This just about says it all.
Liz Truss is a Norfolk MP which is my home county, it has always been 'blue' and currently all but one MP is a Conservative. Yesterday the local paper did a calculation based on the latest opinion polls which showed that if an election took place tomorrow only one Conservative MP would keep their seat, I'll give you one guess who that would be.😊

Don't usually get snow in 17 but have now had a decent amount twice in the last four weeks, the weather is now completely random with no definable seasons which is such a contrast from 20 years ago when we bought our first house here.
