I know this is possibly a very delicate matter particularly if you actually wear one. But I was wondering if it was something that may be effecting you in your area of France,? There is a lot of talk over here in the UK, as to the reasons the French government has implicated this ban. I will drop my 2 pence worth in, I am far from a prejudice person, but my personal view is when I go on holiday to say an Arab country, I and the wife have to follow very strict rules and regs as to dress and drink etc, certain foods are banned and we take this as a matter of fact because we are in there country. Surly the same goes for us in Europe, if you want to come here you should obey our culture and rules? Like I said Controversial or what.

Hi all. Anybody got the weather forcast for this coming week in Normandy, Im thinking of coming over for a short break, and a bit of building work on the old cottage. If its forcast for a lot of rain, I may change my plans for a week or so. Many thanks. Chris.

Hi all. Our village Saires La Verrerie has a very large car boot (thats what we call it in the UK) It takes over every road in the village, and there are lots of good items every year. I wondered if there was any other villages or towns that have such an event? for May day.

Unlike us europeans, who are there for humanitation reasons..........lol.

Well certainly some interesting replies to my question, And in the words of cooperlola....  "I couldn't sleep very well last night. Some noisy b*ggers going around in automobiles kept me awake." And untill I become one of them noisy b*ggers in my Mustang, I for one have no intentions of selling up and moving lock stock and barrel back to the UK. But then I have not managed to move out to France permanently yet anyway, I just hope I finish the rebuilt on the old place before I get bored and change my mind in that I want to move. Chris.

Heard on the radio today, that a large number of Britts are selling up in France, (or trying to) because of the economic climate, is this true? Surly the prices are low to sell in France just as they are in the UK? or am I missing something, I hope never to have to sell before my retirment in 10 or 15 years time. what are your thoughts?

We own a property in Normandy  5 miles south of Fler, but after 6 years still unable to communicate with autorities, eg :- edf /electricians water board, etc. We used to use a company called que can help (Bernard) but found them to be in bed with crooked electricians etc, so have muddeled on for the last 5 years with on line translations, which are worse than useless. We are looking for someone or a company to assist in translating documents etc when we get them, we can deal by email or fax as we are not in France that much lately. Also someone capable of dealing direct with electricians just getting across what we want basicaly. It goes without saying we will pay for each and every letter translated or any work done on our behalf, we dont mind if your a work from home guy or girl or maybe retired and looking for something to do, Dont get me wrong, we only get the odd letter that may want attention, and we are hoping to sort the electrics out in the property we are renovateing during the end of this year, we have the main electrics to the property but will need the supply putting inside and turning on later in the year, we just can't communicate with anyone to arrange estimates etc. Any help most welcome, or contact details please. I think after walking around a village in the UK for the last 4 years makes it a low risk, And personaly I hope your remark about having the poor homeless (pet) put down was tonge in cheek

I can not believe that we get our animals chipped and that the animals owner is not on some register somewhere, I expect if it were to have had rabis and bit someone there would be a way they would have traced the owner? I have 2 dogs both chipped and if they went missing I would hope to god to get a call saying they had been found, MAN it realy makes me mad. I hope they find the owner someone is panicing some where. Fair play to you for putting an alert on here to find the owner. SORRY, have just reread the post and see an address in Normandy was registered, but not in the UK, I assume a note has been posted To that address on account the owners return to France within the next 6 months?
