Have you tried the French language route via Particulaers and Regler ?
For our new house I simply feed in the address meter reading, previous owners address and evetually meter number and then simply feed in my French Bank details. Much to my amazement it worked quickly enough for the first bill to be paid by prelevement. Unfortunately I cannot remember how I did it except that it was no hassle at all. Best of luck anyway.

At the risk on being pedant of the month silicone needs the 'e'.

Unless I wanted to subscribe for extra channels I would buy a freesat, rather than Freesat from Sky, good EPG, easier set up for ITV and BBC regions, much easier than an ordinary digital receiver for UK channels and currently £ 30 for SD from Argos.

No it remains one vest per car. I also carry a print out of the VosDroits page which explains why I have not changed my driving license and a photocopy utility bill but then I am paranoid.

To expand on my comments.
The box is not bad value and if you are North of the Loire the dish will do the job. It will be fairly no harder than anyother box to align but you will have to re enter channels from time to time using parameters from say Lyngsat. I originally bought a digital receiver in France as a backup and to use with a DVD recorder. After six months use I replaced it with a Sky Digibox becasue the Electronic Programme Guide was better and if we went out fro the night it was easier to record a number of different programmes on different channels.
If I knew as little Satellite TV you apparently do and wanted HD - I would either buy a freesat box in the UK and source a dish and cables in France or spend time and money on the Satcure E books about instalation and then make my own mind up.

Good News - it is HD and apparently includes ITV1 HD. It also supports USB so if prices continue to fall could be a good recorder option
Bad News - Dish is only 65 cms rather than 80 cms so check coverage maps. It is not freesat so you will need to reprogram when channels move.
I beleive it may be £ 10 cheaper at B & Q.

Three purchases and two sales. I have never found anyway to control the date the notaire and the other party select for signing the Acte. And in one case we all signed the Acte, paid the money but did not receive vacant possesion for ten days. The French seem to either rent, or store and move in with relatives. If you have a signed compromis you can negotiate a bridging loan but it is not for the faint hearted or thin walletted.

We are driving to Tremolat on Thursday (10th June) afternoon and probably staying Friday. I have two Systems Boxes one ME the other XP both working when put in store.
Also have a small flat screen and CRT plus key boards if you want them. Please pm with Email or telephone number so we can sort out delivery / Tremolat address if you still want one or both

These days a good 70% of English and 90% of North British

1. Is it easy to get a TV engineer in France to erect a dish specifically to access Sky digital TV channels? Yes it is easy you may need to check that they are aiming at a notional position of 28.2 degrees east of South and that they skew the LNB. Alternatively there are at least a dozen firms specialising in installing Sky or freesat in France. Or you can at risk to you marriage health and sanity install the dish yourself - thousands of people have - including myself.
2. Is it possible to formally subscribe to a Sky package when living in France, or can you successfully use a viewing card registered to a UK address, or are you only able to access free to air channels such as BBC, ITV, etc? You cannot subscribe in France but a subscription card and digibox obtained in the UK
3. Can you use Sky+ in France, and if so do you just bring over your existing box from the UK? Many but not all people have found that unless you have a Sky Plus box connected to a UK telephone line you loose the record facility

Start knocking on doors locally and find who else wants ADSL . Try the mayor and local schools. Find out where the nearest place with ADSL is and which exchange they use. Have a look at cost of microwave to nearest exchange with ADSL.

Based on their map same advise as last time anywhere except departures. Based on my experience of flying to Rhodes last year the French do not get low cost. Suspect BILLI maybe a typical French Acronym - Bordeaux In Long Lines Inbound ?

The CT must have been completed within the previous six months for the vehicle to be reregistred so he is correct.

Are you sure that is radio rather than TV ?

Two ideas - Try a real plumbers merchant such as Brossette or CEDEO if they have branches in your area. - See what if anything one of the cheap and chearful swiming pool people like Cash Piscines or Zyke have.
Pages Jaunes sometimes has links to websites which can help -

I would hate to be held for the four hours while any form of the French police decided if I was who I claimed.
About 40 years ago friend eventually talked his way out of a pull in Morroco using a Marylebone Squash Club membership cards

As far as I am aware there are no HD receivers that put a HD signal out other than down the HDMI lead and there are no DVD or recorders with a HD that accept HDMI input.

Impossible to cost accurately without knowing number of rooms whether the cables are to be cut in to walls and made good, what access is like to ceiling, floors and lofts, delesteurs or off peak etc. but I do not think you will spend less than € 1000 a room on average.

What a complete collection of misinformation and male cattle import and export data- the advice unless you have the key to Adolf Hitler's Swiss accounts buried on your HD about re writing 7 times will cover you. If somebody dumped a Mac on my desk and said what has it on it I would rub my hands and start and I would probably crack it faster than a PC but I would earn a lot less per hour than I would do as a PC specialist.
I worked with people who hacked 'Exlax' on Geisco in the 70s.
What on earth have you on a Mac that you are worried about other people reading ?

I would take a long hard look at the potential market. Last visit we paid to Spain South coast was littered with UK focused businesses which had closed following the mass exodus when Spain changed its health card regieme for the Brittish.

I don't know when we will be visiting them but will post on this thread when I know the dates.

I am just outside Guitres - 33910 - Friends have a holiday home in Tremolat (Dordogne) and we normally visit when they are staying there.

If you input the postcode into 'viamichelin' a list of the communes comes up that is about as good as I have found. In our case there are over a dozen to choose from.
