Dinah
But simple, I hope. How do I declare my income from letting out my property in France? My main home is in the UK and I am a UK tax payer. I understand that if I declare my French income in France it will be free of tax up to 15,000 euros. Is this right? Also, I have heard that when I pay any cleaners etc it can be useful to use a special chequebook where I can record details to keep urssaf happy. Any info on this? Liz
You need to contact CDI Non Residents, 9 Rue d'Uzes, 75094 Paris Cedex. It's a while since I had anything to do with them so I hope this is still current, they may even have a web site by now. I don't know what the level at which you start paying tax is but there certainly is one, but you have to declare anyway.I think the cheques you mean are Cheques Emploi and that is the limit of my knowledge! They do get a mention from time to time and you could try a trawl through the Gite owners section.Liz (29)
