AndrewD
When we move to France and become French resident very soon, I plan to continue investing in UK Unit trusts and OIECs. The French tax-incentive investments are not interesting to me because they are tied up in so many restrictions. I need to be able to buy and sell at will to generate income. Also I have no confidence that French managed funds will generate the kind of return I can get in the UK.What I would like to know is how these funds will be taxed. What capital gains tax regime will apply? Will I get the annual €15000 exemption on sales? The €1000 exemption on gains? Is the income from funds treated differently to the capital gain, even if the fund is an accumulation fund, where income is automatically reinvested?
