I do not wish to have a mortgage that I cannot manage so I would prefer to put down a bigger deposit and have an affordable mortgage. Most of the lenders and brokers seem to have a ceiling of 50k euros as their minimum. Will Posted January 24, 2007 Share Posted January 24, 2007 Any French bank should be able to lend you a sum under 50,000€, as long as you meet the usual loan conditions of course. You will still have to pay the usual fees, and probably a slightly higher interest rate, so as smaller mortgages are reckoned to be less good value that might be why you don't hear so much about them.
