This is a quick one hopefully.

If I sell a barn conversion before its finished do I pay TVA.

We bought the barn three years ago and plan to move back to UK next year. It is our main residence and we will have

paid at least 2 years income tax in France. We have not sent off form H1(ie the finished work form) as its not finished!

You have already asked this same question in the original thread that you posted yesterday.

Perhaps you should re-read the advice that those other members have taken the time to offer.  Or is it not quite what you were hoping for....[8-)]

Thankyou for your advice.

I have read the helpfull contributions, but, unless I have missed something, this question remains unanswered.

ie if you sell a barn nearly finished (pre H1) there is not TVA

and if you sell a barn finished (H1 sent)there is.

Please forgive this further question, and perhaps some

repetition, but

a) there's a lot of money involved

b)I'm still waititng to here the answer to this and

c)who are you ,the police?

In that case, you'd be better to invest in the advice of a specialist accountant or a different (and better informed) notaire, not rely on people who are trying to be helpful but are not necessarily qualified to give accurate advice in your exact circumstances. Having said that, BJSLIV is usually particularly well-informed.

He's one of the most knowledgeable people on this forum (and others) and spends a lot of time (presumably researching and) providing accurate information on a variety of subjects. In this instance appears to be trying to prevent other forum users wasting their time giving you information that you've already received in your other thread.

Hope that's answered at least two of your questions. [:D]

This is a forum, not a citizens advice bureau.

Having a go at SD is well out of order and will win you few friends on here.

Perhaps an apology is in order.
