New Build Experiences ?

I am looking for a suitable plot with a view to building an eco friendly house. Has any one experience of this ? And I am also looking for a bi-lingual Architect with knowledge/experience of new technologies.

I expect to build within a 20 mile radius of Carentan , thus would expect the Architect to be within working distance
