Where can I hire a wheelchair

I'm briniging my mum to France at Easter and need to hire a wheel chair for a week.  I won't have room in the car for her's.

Any idea's - our house is nr. La Chatre.

Try the main pharmacy in the nearest

reasonably-large town or, if they either don't do wheelchair hire and

don't know of anywhere that does, ask at the local cabinet infirmière for advice. In many (I'm guessing most) of the larger towns there are disability shops that do everything from special shoes to wheelchair hire. In Normandy last year, we hired a very robust, foldaway wheelchair for 2 weeks for about 30 euros.

I notice that you are based in Bracknell while in the UK. Bracknell has one of the few "mobility" shops in the area, selling a wide range of wheelchairs. They may be able to supply or give advice about wheelchair hire.

Thanks for your suggestion. My mum has a wheelchair, it takes up quite alot of space.  I'm going to phone the local pharmacy tomorrow.

There is a very good facility for wheel chair hire in Chabris (about 12kms North of Valencay). I have used them several times for my mum's wheel chair hire.If you want specific location e-mail me.

Thanks for this - I called the local pharmacy in Ste.Severe. They're arranging for one to be delivered to me - cost: 16.45 Euros for the week.

They were so helpful.  They also can arrange for other aids if needed.
