Financial help with Fosse Septic (assainissment)

Hi out there

We live on the edge of the Marais Poitivin, (very pretty)  and always knew that we would have to have a new Fosse installed according to the new laws that came into effect in Jan 2005. We were however a little shocked to find that because we live in this 'wet' area, the Syndicat Des Eaux have said we have to have the most expensive one with pumps etc. We basically have no choice. My question is;

Does anyone know which is the best organisation to apply to for some form of financial assistance (we are on a very limited disability pension), for such a project? Are there grants available for such circumstances. There seems to be a lot of differenct organisations out there but I am left a little confused as to which one is the most appropriate.

Have you tried your Mairie.  I seem to recall someone saying to me that a grant is available for new Fosse installations but it depends in your finances.  I think the Marie should have the details.  Sorry it's a bit vague.[*-)]
