My son (who lives in the UK) is going to visit us at Christmas time and is meeting up with his Canadian girlfriend in Paris first - that is, if they can find any accommodation. There are loads of hostel websites around but I am after something tried and tested that I could recommend to them. Thanks a lot in advance! Although I have never stayed at a hostel, I have seen what seems to be a decent one just around the corner from Rue du Commerce at Metro Felix Faure. I think I remember seeing Oz and Canadian flags outside. A young colleague of mine used to live in that area and told me that he often used to try to sneak into the hostel because it looked "happening".
