processional caterpillers

can any one tell me more about these caterpillars,[+o(]what do they turn into? are they still poisoness after they have changed? what do they look like? are they easy to spot? and any other info you might have please

Now come on, Pads - you're not trying, are you?  Here's a page that describes them and their habits.  I guess the only difference is that these ones have a Spanish accent.

The moth won't give you dermatitis - it's the spines of the caterpillar.  Their caterpillar nests are rather interesting - you see them in pine trees, like big clumps of fluff - do not disturb them!

sorry mr cassis sir, but i did think of it after i wrote to the forum, and found some info on google, but none of the pages told me what they turn into, dangerous little buggars arnt they, can kill a dog with one sniff, I had just heard they are in the area where we are getting our house, do you know what they turn into? Ta mister..................[:$]

I think you need pine trees nearby to be affected by them as that's where they hatch - hence the funny nest things.

yes we re surrounded with pine forrest, and you now im sure i,ve seen thoses nest somewhere before? probaly when we were out there in may...

edit Im having great fun swating flies, i just got 2 in one swipe Ha.................

Its not me but my dogs im worried about as the nearest tree is about 10 foot from our front door. and loads all around us, I have read they can kill a dog, is there anything i can give them as an antidote?

Why a fish? can you not shink your scream head?
