thunderhorse
We've had every success with ant powder e.g. Nippon. Have you found where they're getting in, and where the nest is? When you say a roof full, do you mean in a grenier, behind plasterboard, under tiles, in and out of stonework? What?Hope you get a resolution. la-vie-en-rose
Okay!the roof is on the third floor, above a bedroom, and the building is stone, recently re-crepi'd.There are many many ants, somewhere between the roof tiles, the glass fibre insulation and the lambris below it.We haven't had a problem before, and I thought I had eradicated this one using the usual gels, powders, and sprays - but no way. It's not termites (we have friendly specialists who are certain of that, plus we've seen them), and the ants are now causing a problem in that the detritus from the nests is getting through the lambris and onto the floor and bed below. It's not wood dust - we tried burning it and it wouldn't combust.I can't see the ant runs from the exterior any longer, so they must now be inside the walls, some of which are lined, but not all. It's a bit of a mystery and I am off to investigate further...OH tried vaccuuming them but this just made them, him, me and the vaccuum cleaner rather irritable/irritated...
