My reading French is not so hot and the French legal forms and descriptives are heavy going. Does anyone have any useful information on this subject or even any experience of this process. Jotty Posted October 15, 2008 Share Posted October 15, 2008 It's possible to win a case and still lose out...I took a car dealer to court and won, officially with costs: but he kept the car (which I had returned as it was unfit to drive) and my cash, and I had to pay the avocat and huissier up front.When the huissier went to recover the money owing to me the dealer simply said he was now bankrupt and couldn't pay.So I paid for a car, and the costs of avocat, and huissier...and came away with nothing. 86er Posted October 15, 2008 Author Share Posted October 15, 2008 Mmmmm - Jotty - that sounds awful and this is why I wondered if there was a simpler system such as the Small Claims system to avoid this.
