I was not in need of a translation, and I know from the song of Alizee that

lolita is used in France somewhat as it is used in English.

My question was about French culture and I was hoping it would be ok to ask it in this forum.

I was chatting with a girl (15 y o) of Hispanic background, and we were talking about different cultures, and she said that usually in her culture, it would be considered strange or freakish for an adult male to have said hello to a girl of her age or to have looked at her.

I think the French culture is more liberal about that, but I could be wrong. I am making my guess based on the photobooks of nudes that France lets be taken and published, a few movies, and the song of Alizee.

Without creating a judgment on French culture being good or bad in this respect, how does the culture as a whole react to adults who greet or say hello to females of teenage age?
