Hello,

I would like to apply for a French Passport. I was born in France and have a French birth certificate. The problem is that my mother and father listed on the birth certificate are American citizens.

However, now my father has become a French citizen because he is married to a French wife. Would I qualify for citizenship?

Does anyone know where I can find answers to these questions?

I think that, once you are over 16, you should be able to obtain French citizenship. We were awaiting our turn in the mairie a few weeks ago when Moroccan parents were trying to obtain citizenship for their child born in France. They were told that once their child was 16 he could apply for citizenship but not before then. Good luck
