Georgie
I have come across an interesting website for e-books, a medium which is big in the States and which seems to be becoming more and more popular here. What's interesting about this site is you are able to post your own writings, as well as read others, all for free! There are some lovely pieces on there - including short stories and poems. I think it has only launched fairly recently as the number of works is quite small. If you are a budding author, poet or playwright, you might like to take a look - www.mybooklive.co.uk. I particularly liked the poem entitled 'It really is a b*****r growing old!
chessfou
If you want free e-books to read, saving costs of buying or long trips to the "local" médiathèque then I can strongly recommend the following sites:French: http://www.ebooksgratuits.com/ebooks.phpInternational: http://www.scribd.com/International: http://www.feedbooks.com/booksInternational: http://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Main_PageFrench: http://www.bnf.fr/ - absolutely superb site with much more than just e-books.and, as soon as they get their new servers in place (the site crashed and burned within an hour of launch):http://www.europeana.eu/portal/which will, eventually, have almost everything in almost every language (although Google books may get there first)
