HELP... Insurance problems

Recommended Posts

Hi, I have a UK registered bike, which I managed to get 3 months French insurance cover on, while I registered it in France.

Unfortunatly the bike has more than the 106hp that the French allow, the bike is a 1999 model so the 2002 ruling doesn't apply and so I am looking at a way round this hurdle, the bike is still MOTed and taxed and registered to my UK address but after looking at insurance quotes in the UK they all have a time clause on time in France.

I am NOT looking for a way to bend rules or defraud anyone, I just want to ride my bike legally.

Any help in resolving this issue would be gratefully received[:D]
Is/was that bike available in France? If so,what were the mods used to reduce the power to make it legal?
The bike was/is available in France, its a CBR 1100 xx Blackbird, love the bike to bits and dont really want to part with it, I was told that if I fit the restricters in the carbs and then take it to a Honda dealer for them to verify that it complys to French spec, then there would not be a problem with getting the French plates, unfortunatly the local Honda dealer wont get involved, but they will sell me a new bike if I want one.!!!
