"If you've got a fifty pence head put a fifty pence helmet on it" 

The youngsters in france who ride with their helmets un-fastened or perched on the top of their heads. It just defies belief.

It more than defies belief Bugsy, it is totally stupid and why don't the damjams clobber it?

I think a tuppeny helmet would do most of that lot. A bit like Sikhs and their turbans peut etra?

I do indeed Steve in the days when only the police wore 'corkies' [:)]. 100 mph on an early Honda through our village in Staffordshire in a normal jacket, no helmet, boots, leathers or gloves............sends a shiver down the spine to think about it now.

Look at the gendarmes in summer - short sleeved shirts, nylonny jodphurs and those gorgeous leather boots !

Then of course it's cool in the summer to wear flip flops and shorts........
