plant identification

Does anyone know what this plant is?

Its about 50cm high, with woody hollow main stems and strongly aromatic foliage. Its just about to flower with small yellow 'puffy' flowers (like miniature mimosa).

The smell is quite pleasant and I recognise it, but can't place it. At first I thought it was caraway - but the flowers don't look right.

Any clues please?

Thanks for the idea.

I'm not sure about it being a type of mimosa - we've also got a small mimosa tree and its foliage doesn't smell. The look of the flowers is very similar though.

The smell of the mystery plant is kind of lemony/lavender - pretty strong. It started growing in spring and now its a 50cm bush.

I'd like to know if I can cook with it - or if its only good for rubbing on boils/stings! (not that I have any of those at the moment)
