Free Gite Advertising

Can anybody suggest any portal sites that offer free advertising for gites?  I have found a couple, but I am sure there are more.

They offer free advertising for 12 months so at least you can try before you buy.

Just to say having seen the last reply I have been onto First for France and have uploaded info about our house in Creuse and it was wonderfully easy to do, a real doddle.

I gathered together a lot of them at www.ourinns.org/freesites.htm .

One thing I've noticed with the free sites is that they tend to either disappear or to start charging over time (as you'll see from the list: all were free no more than 18 months or so ago).

Also, the free ones, in general, aren't as widely promoted as the paid-for ones so will probably bring in fewer reservations. Having said that, there's no downside in being on a freebie site and some of them certainly do bring in bookings.

I have looked at the site and found page errors on each of the regions of France. Are you aware of the problem or is there no one advertising!!

It should be fine now; you caught us in the midst of a site update which made the listings unavailable for a little while.

I try to do these when there are likely to be relatively few people accessing the site but, of course, "relatively few" isn't none.

There are several hundred entries on the site now (hence the recent major update to cope with the larger numbers).
