Best option for managing an above ground swimming pool

This is my first interaction with the website so hopefully it will result in some good advice.

What is the best option is for managing an above ground swimming pool? I recently purchassed a holiday home in France which has an above ground pool. I will be there for about three weeks in the summmer and on a few other occassions outside of this.I have engaged someone to look after the garden and pool for me when I am not there.From your personal expereince what would be the best option for managing the pool -empty after summer use and then refill for summer use or try and maintain througout the year. What is the most cost effective approach when electricity and pool products are taken into account.Thanks for your help. Seamus[:)]

Bit more info plse will need to know size of pool, is it covered, what kind of filters

You also have to be careful if you are emptying it, as these can cause problems with the liner, dependant on the pool.
