Health Cover

I have seen the posts re health cover for English people moving/retiring to France. We are in a slightly different position as both my husband and I are English but have lived in the Republic of Ireland for four and a half years. The E106/121 does not apply here - don't ask! - and we don't know what our situation would be if we moved to France. I am 58 and my husband is 61 - both reired teachers - but I have been working in Ireland since we moved. I have paid tax and PRSI - the Irish equivalent of Health tax - but haven't a clue how we would be covered in France.

Has anyone any ideas on how we could find out what we are entitled to or health cover?
