Les Vans -Ardeche - retirement looms - lettings?

Good day,

I've been lurking here for while, I have just retired early, and have chums near Les Vans, Ardeche. It's a tourist town in the summer, but very quiet in the winter, which suits me.  I lived in France some years ago, and know some of the pitfalls, and joys so might be tempted back. My place in the UK is on the market, so I think it will be February or so when it sells.

Are there any locals here who can advise generally on rental prices and availability  the Les Vans area?  I'd take a year letting to see if I could afford it, and not die of lonelyness.

My early retirement  income at the moment is about a £1000 a month net, which is not a lot but I do have 100% equity in my current property so I can get by nicely, until I decide finally where I would like to live.
