I hung on for over 50 minutes on two consecutive days when I first moved here, once at 11.10 then got a can you call back later message at 12-00, the second one in the afternoon just went to an engaged tone after the same period of time, the FT jingle is still a sound I dread. If you do have a problem getting through, ring France Telecom's normal number and ask if there is an English speaker, they do have a few and they are normally very helpful.
