3G mobiles

Hi there,

Which of the mobile phone companies offer the best 3G connection?  A 2gig monthly plan is about the limit.  I am interested in the new internet car radio coming out end of this year.  Please read here:-

I’ve had a look at the radio in the link you give – interesting concept.....

All the networks have coverage maps – I suggest you look at the 3G coverage in your area on each of the networks.  Note when mobile networks make claims of x % coverage , they mean population coverage not geographic coverage.  Orange quote 74% 3G population coverage on their website - what will happen on one of these radios if you leave a 3G area?

You’d probably need the same “add-on” as you would need to use your mobile as modem (with a laptop) – I don’t have French network prices but in the UK 1gB is £10 and 3gB is £15 per month on the 3 network.  French networks are bound to be much more (compare the prices of mobile broadband dongles in UK and France).
