Ecossais Posted February 17, 2009 Share Posted February 17, 2009 The jargon term for using a mobile phone abroad is “roaming”.If you roam with a French network mobile in the UK (or anywhere outwith France) you will be charged a per minute roaming cost for incoming calls. Basically the idea is that the person calling you pays the normal amount (or the call may be part of the inclusive minutes with the tariff) and you pay the cost of the call being forwarded to the UK (or wherever you are). The cost will be on your network’s website.If you have a UK network mobile and use it in the UK, then you will not incur any charge for incoming calls, however someone phoning from France will pay much more than phoning a French network mobile.
