Wanted young black and white border collie

Recommended Posts

We live in the Aude area and are looking to give a loving home for a young black and white collie (long hair) for a companion to our playful 11year old border collie, who is just the right age to teach a youngster right from wrong.  We live on a large plot of land (8 hectares) ideal for a young collie with lots of energy to burn.

Have you looked at Phoenix Assoication or Poorpaws. they are not in your area but they know about the dogs they offer for re-homing and often have contacts in other areas.  The lady who volunteers at the Spa at Carcassonne is away in the UK right now but can't help feeling there is bound to be something there that fits the bill as there are so many collie types there.

There is a beautiful longhaired black and white border collie on the SPA site at Millau in Aveyron

http://www.spa.asso.fr/Animaux/EZZI/TPL_CODE/TPL_ANIMAUX/PAR_TPL_IDENTIFIANT/38600/3-adoptions-animaux.htm

He's called Ezzi and he's two years old.

Hope you find a dog that suits you and fingers crossed it is one in desperate need of a home.  Border collies really flourish in the sort of space you have to offer and with a friend and mentor already there and waiting what more could a young dog ask!

Belle at Poorpaws is still available - have just got email from her foster carer saying following about her ....

gentille.

Cordialement,

Cathy

The dog above at Carcassonne is probably the nearest to you, then Millau, then Poorpaws.  The advantage of Poorpaws is that Belle is with a foster family and therefore a known quantity - also Sue at Poorpaws take dogs from Carcassonne as regularly as she can to help ease the load there.  She tells me there are also some colli x puppies up for adoption that she knows of.  I have taken three dogs from Carcassonne recently and they have all been lovely dogs, albeit they need a little while to settle in obviously.  Hope one of these is lucky enough to take your fancy!  Please let us know.  Thank you.

Are you still looking?  The Refuge at Cahors has just received a very young border collie - retrieved from an unsuitable owner who re-homed it as a puppy in February.  I can get some more information and photos of if you are interested??

(Merlin - we have been in touch about this one.)
