new home needed for 'labri'

Recommended Posts

Posted on AI last week - she's not spayed and chases cats and chickens BUT she's a real sweetie and loves children and other dogs - here is what her owner says about her and I will post a picture she sent me.  Thanks.

We are looking for a home for our "labri". she's elegant and good

tempered. Looks like the "fido" dog..or a smaller version of the delux

paint ad'. She's around 3 1/2 yrs old, is chipped de-loused etc. She

would love to have another doggy companion or/and a good garden with

attentive owners......we can't provide either and it's a shame for us

all.

If you could help or wish for more details please contact by mail or ring 0561979855.

Thank you.

This is Mayu and I think you agree, after reading the following information from her current owner, that this doggie needs a new home quite urgently!  She's lovely and clearly not in the right environment at the moment as her owner is honest about.  Can anyone help her?  Her is what the owner says about her :-

She's called "Mayu" which means eyebrow in japanese....(my

wife, Kiyono, is japanese)...she came with the name whiskey and will

respond to that too. We've had her about a year . She was found , and

taken in, by a family but apparently the gent' of the house objected

strongly to having a non-working dog.....having two gun dogs she was

categorized as a yap dog....on the same par as a poodle or similar.

..this despite her noble sheep dog ancestry!

She responds to "mayu come here", "sit"..."heel" ..."lie

down"..."bed"...."hup" or "up" for getting in the car..."no"..etc   .

She's not good when she's first out for a pee....she's deaf in fact

until she's had a sniff...pee etc  then she's pretty good...if you're

off on a long walk she rarely needs much attention she'll orbit around

until she's tired and then tag along beside you.

She's very friendly and quiet and a good companion.

O.k and now for the bad points; she has little road sense and will even

chase a car or bike if she's not on the lead. She's not completely

dependable as regards house training...never a problem in the day but at

night either she needs to be on the leash in her bed...which she's not

going to foul...or kept outside.

That's about it really other than why we would like a good (better) home

for her. Our garden is not big and is at roof height....you need to go

up a many stairs which she doesn't take freely to that...so either she's

down stairs loafing around or off for a walk ...clearly we're not often

going to go out for a walk all day... so she's inside too much and I

think it better that she's either out or/and with other doggy company.

Hope all this makes sense.

Happy to say that this lass went to a new home today - fingers crossed it works for her.  Nice retired couple who took in another rescue last week and are hoping the two dogs will get along and settle down and be happy together as they have both had a bit of a rough time in their young lives so far.
