We are looking for a foster home for Millie.  She is a small Spanish dog who we rescued from the streets 6 weeks ago.  We are currenly staying in Spain with our other 2 english dogs.  We are leaving Spain at the end if January and will be staying in France for one month before heading back home.  We have started the passport process off already here.  She will have done 3 months of her seven months with us and we are looking for someone to foster her for the other four months.  Then we will come back to France to collect her once the final four months of the passport scheme is completed.  She is approx. 2 years old, is housetrained, lead trained.  All she asks for nice walks, warm bed and loads of cuddles.  We are looking for a foster home in the Dordogne area.  We are of course, prepared to travel for the right place.  We would be willing to pay for the right home.  We do not want her to be in a kennel if possible.  She is a Spainsh dog and will feel the cold.

Can anyone help??[:)]

Sorry I cannot help but wish you luck in your search.

I have seen some "kennels" which are designed for longer term stays where the dogs are basically living in the house with the owners (loads of them).  One place was http://www.cani-excel.com/, the other one was called Maison des Animaux (I think) but their site is doing a "Not Found" and a Google search gives loads of references to (it was towards the south of France).  Not used and had no experience of either so cannot recommend or comment on them other than point out their existence.

Well, so far the situation is we have had an offer(which we are very grateful for).  We  have not yet decided if we are coming to France in February or if we are going to stay here in Spain.  We have found a lady who is willing to take her here also but she has a lot of dogs already staying with her.  Millie does like a lot of attention and cuddles.  Suppose she didn´t get much of that living on the street!!  She is just learning how to play.  Love to play with balls and biscuits.  A new thing for her.  She also has the disease Leishmaniasis which means she is on medication every day for the rest of her life.  Many dogs have that disease here.  She does not seem ill with it yet though.  It affects all dogs differently.

We will keep you all informed of the situation[:D]

Hi Trizzy

Millie loves children but she does not like cats.  Whenever she sees one she chases it.  From her shoulder down she is about 30cm.  She is not a pedigree.  A typical Spnish dog.  Bits of everything in there!  She is about 2 yrs old.  It is difficult to send a pic because we don´t have an internet connection and we have to reley on internet cafes.
