Thank you Sweets, thank you for that.  He doesn't want to let him go does he, he wants their close relationship to go on forever.

For those who haven't seen it, I just came across this beautiful film which explains so well the extraordinary relationship we have with our best friends.  It's as if we are made for each other.

The Secret Life of the Dog

This is a really sad story:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2186411/Rottweiler-attacks-Lesley-Banks-dies-dog-bite-refusing-treatment-case-pet-down.html

My friend lost a lovely dog a few weeks ago, the dog was so loved by those that knew her that my friend got bereavement cards from people that had known her...

This week we are going to Battersea Dogs Home to pick up another dog for her ( this is after a couple of visits to the dog and a home visit by the organisation ) both dogs were/are Rotties

Christine, I went to the dogs home with my friend and I have to say I thought of you!

We visited the branch at Old Windsor, talk about upmarket, modern buildings and facilities all set in lovely grounds, so you can take a dog for a walk, take it into a one of several enclosures so you can see what it's like off the lead etc...several rooms for introducing dogs etc..

When we were there professional photographers were taking pics of the dogs for the web site which they said they did every fortnight, I guess as volunteers.

My friend went back to see the dog and took her grandchildren with her, no problems....so hopefully all will go well

Christine, how can I resist your plea to "keep em coming"?

So...here goes:

Perhaps they should enter him for the paralympics?

Poor baby and he has such a happy face.  Our American Staffordshire who died a few months ago had one back leg missing.  He used to pull doors open using one front paw, which meant he was only standing on two legs (the same side).  He had a tremendous chest and shoulders as he used his front legs so much.  It's amazing what they can do and how they adapt.

Update  [:)]

Because of the public's generosity, Schoep has been getting expensive joint laser treatments to reduce pain and swelling related to arthritis.

"He's walking so much faster," the 49-year-old Unger said. "It's unbelievable."
