C.V. Rating.

There is no simple answer. If the vehicle was built within the last few years then the CO2 emissions and engine power output govern the CV rating. If older, then there are very complicated formulae involving fuel used, engine power, gear ratios etc. If older still then it does depend on engine size, but on a rather arbitrary scale set by the tax collectors. Hi Anton.

It is a 2001 Euro spec Z28 first registered in the UK. I am going to be living in France so I will want to register it there. Couldn't talk the missus into a 57 chevy. pity.

Regards. Les.

The Camaro Z28 is not listed in the range of models currently offered for sale by Chevrolet France, so you'll need to contact them to see if they can issue you with an 'attestation de conformite' for french national type approval.  The attestation will show the french CV rating.

If the Z28 was never commercially imported into France, then you'll need to apply for a french 'reception de titre isole' (single vehicle approval inspection) .  RTIs are carried out by the Directions Régionales de l'Industrie, de la Recherche et de l'Environnement (DRIRE). As your vehicle is currently type approved for the UK, you'll probably only need to make minor changes like headlamps, rear fog lamp positioning, etc.
