Headlamps

I am in the process of getting my 2006 Volvo registered and plated in France.  I have been told that cars over 4 years old have to have their headlights replaced.  Does this apply to new vehicles as well?

I think that you mean cars over 4 years old need a CT, where they will check that the headlights dip to the right. All cars registered here will need continental headlights whatever age, but they probably won't check till it gets to the first CT at 4 years old.
